    I unfortunately did not come away with the same take on that article. Moyes said that they are looking at him, but my fear is that they've seen a few Roma matches and are asking themselves the same thing we are. How in Hades did this guy ever put on an Azzurri shirt? In spite of that, I hope they sign him.

    Not sure if this has been discussed here . . . but Brighi
    is joining us from Chievo.

    There was a lot of fuss around Brighi a couple of seasons
    back, as I recall. He's supposed to be an excellent midfielder;
    anyone see him play recently?

    Oh dear, I'm looking back at this thread and seeing some
    incorrect statements . . .

    First--Montolivo is only 17 (that's for Canzano55). He was
    already in Atalanta's first team this season and scored a
    couple of goals and had a few promising games. He's been
    called the 'next Totti' by GOAL.com; and yes, that is a lot
    to live up to. Not even Totti is as good as Totti, if you
    know what I mean. But Montolivo has shown a lot of promise.

    Second--what is this tedious business of doubting Cassano's
    talent? Going strictly by the numbers, he has done better
    than any #10/ fantasista in Italian football history. That's to
    say that by this point in his career he has 43 Serie A goals;
    at the same point the likes of Rivera, Baggio, Totti, Del Piero,
    and Vialli had fewer goals. (NB: had Baggio not injured his knee
    at 18, he would likely have had more than Cassano does at
    the same stage. But that's Baggio.)

    On any evidence I know, Cassano is an absolutely fantastic
    talent. I do hope we can hold on to him.

    I've seen him play and he is a pretty good midfielder. He hasn't got all the creativness but he is better than Dacourt and Perrotta.

    Brighi was supposed to be the "next big Italian midfielder". He was captain of the Under 21 squad. But at club level, he never really impressed. He was at Parma and Brescia and never really made an impact. Even at Chievo this year he was pretty quiet. Maybe Roma will keep him because of this Transfer embargo, but I expect them to loan him out again.

    It would be fantastic if we could trade Pelizzoli for Mozart.

    Good.... they can take him. I've never seen Mortadella...I mean Montella as a strong forward. He's the kind of player that you use as a sub when all else is going wrong up front. At that stage he can make a difference - on his own as a striker - Forget it!..he's useless. Unless someplayer is feeding the ball directly to his feet and in front of the net - he can score, otherwise fuh-get-about-it.

    Sell him... Van der Meyde and the cash would be an asset to us.

    Viva la Roma!

    I hope Roma gets Esposito because hes gonna be a great player ;)

    I dont know if I wanna let go of Montella because he seems like a Roma kinda guy that we cant let go but Esposito would be a wonderful replacement and plus we would strengthen our midfield with Van Der Meyde

    Does anyone know if these deals are likely to happen or are they just bullsh1t rumours

    In my WE8 Lazio bought him from me, I think that is what is going to happen.

    TAS is expected to issue a ruling on Roma's appeal of FIFA's transfer ban, no sooner than Wednesday, which includes the current and winter tranfer markets. God help us...

    Good news today. We really need to get the transfer ban done with. It looks liek Mozart is Rome's next option.

    I was under the impression that we don't have the scratch
    to hold on to Cassano. :confused:

    God, I still can't believe what a number FIFA did to us during
    this transfer season. Bastardi.
