American Exports: Michael Bradley embodies Klinsmann's call for a new challenge http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...radley-embodies-klinsmanns-call-new-challenge
I think that might be part of the assertion and its potential worthwhile analysis. And its corollary could certainly follow that had Rico Clark been half-German and raised in that foreign country, he would no doubt be as good as Jones and worthy of the US captaincy. Personally, I'm hoping the US starts to produce some more pseudo-half-Ducth midfielders like John O'Brien (or guys who would/could benefit from some strong club academy training).
I never said anything about soft spoken. In fact you want them to show emotion but constructive emotion. You want someone who's calm when players are going after eachother. The captain can't get involved in that type of stuff other than to separate. You don't normally make your enforcer the captain.
Seem to remember more than one with the US but might just be one. But was more referring to his record with his clubs, and the fact that he has shown a temper both for club and country not an attribute I want in my captain particularly with the unique challenges that face the "Yanquies" in Concacaf.
This video is the sort of thing that sticks with you. For those who speak Danish, there's a follow-up with this same girl on a Danish TV talk show. Hope this worked out...
It's apparently fake. Or at least that's what the comments have me to believe. Soemone said she was a danish actress and this was all scripted and was an 'audition'. I don't think it's real...
With Howard out, here's an updated tl;dr version of my ranking of the remaining captain possibilities from the last page: 1. Cherundolo, if healthy 2. Bradley 3. Dempsey, if healthy And if those 2 injuries drag on and Bradley gets hurt, Klinsmann would have to turn to somebody like Cameron or Jones.
It seems only the mention of Jones stirs the pot here....................................................................... The player who is a Leader for his Champions league team, yet is no good here.
if we are going by how long people have been with the team, respect, etc. MB has been "with the team" as a youngster-he was at bradenton in 2002 for the US U-17s, practiced then played with the full Nats in 2006. hell, he has been playing professionally since he was 16. dude bleeds red, white, and blue. what more do you guys want? he's got my vote.
It's because he's so reckless that he scores goals and is a team leader in every sense of the word. Can't have a man like that be our captain. He plays too rough? That sounds awful. Been suspended once? AWFUL!
JK had Bradley next to him speaking to the media before the Honduras match. It seems all but a done deal.

Ah, globalization your powers are wonderful to behold: A pale American, and a footballer no less, helping sell a German car to Italians.
