I don't know - Arsenal all of a sudden is getting back into their passing grove and scoring goals by committee. Unless we lock down the midfield we could be in a world of hurt here.
Team announces that Reina, Enrique and Johnson available for selection. --------------------Reina Johnson ---Skirtel -----Agger ----Enrique --__-----------Lucas ---Gerrard downing --------Henderson -----Suarez --------------------Sturridge And it'll play more like a 4-4-2
My only real hope here is that Arsenal, which has been nearly as Jekyll-and-Hyde this year as we have been, have one of their off days. But really, I'm dreading this (and the City match to follow).
We have responded well all season following a bad result and I expect Wednesday will be no different. Reina is traveling. Carra, Johnson, Lucas and Gerrard will come back in. I expect Henderson will also start, with Downing on the front line with Sturridge and Suarez.
I do not want to see Allen in this game. But I have a feeling he will get the nod ahead of Henderson.
Been a while since we took max pts in the Emirates and we haven't beat anybody above us in the table this season. Sturridge, Gerrard and Suarez need to show up and smash it down Arse's throat. Their defense isn't as good as it was at the beginning of the season but then, neither is ours.
Bit nervous about Jose Enrique being mentioned. Love him, I think he's our most underrated player but it's been taking him a couple of games to find his groove when he comes back from a lay off.
this will be a good litmus test to see our progression under rodgers. we got worked in our first match this season, but it was our third game. i'm interested to see how we're coming along. with all the doom and gloom, we beat them we are even on points.
I like the line up. Still recovering from yesterday so I'm not overly possitive about gettting a result. They've lo0ked very fluid with their movement lately.
Wasn't this the first game after the end of the window debacle? Got to think all that had a negative impact on the players as well.
I'm hoping that Rodgers gave the team a right rocket after yesterday's asinine performance. Fortunately we'll have Johnson, Enrique Reina and, of course, Agger back. But it's in the middle where we are lacking ideas, and I still think Rodgers has not been learning his lesson or is not transmitting ideas from said lessons especially from Everton, Stoke and Mansfield.
I don't think Arsenal is physically intimidating, which is something we seem to have problems with, and there style is more like ours so there should be a better comfort level. I, like others have wondered about the psychological affect the loss on Sunday will have. With probably 7 different starters there may not be as much of an impact as I first thought
Gonna miss this one, as I'll be smack dab in the middle of moving cross-country (guess I should've planned this better, but at least I'll be able to catch the Citeh game at 11th St. Bar, my new local). The Arsenal fixture is always one I look forward to, mostly because I have lots of good Gooner friends. The first game against them was a pretty pathetic display. Hoping for a much different result tomorrow.
