That's a start. A very small step in a positive direction. Now, he'll just sit and collect fat paychecks, like many others. But at least he can do no further harm on the pitch. So much for yesterday's "Best player from the African Cup of nations".

Why not? Better than dreadding the outcome anyway. I'm on board with this. I remember being so pumped after we came from behind to beat Barca 2-1 at this point 2 years ago. We can do it again!!! BELIEVE we can do it again!!! 2-nil would be a fantastic result. Theeeeeee-OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

We really don't have anything to lose in this tie, which is about the only thing we have going in our favor. I hate that I can't get motivated for this. Hard to get hyped with this squad.

i have no clue how this match will go. common sense says we lose 3-1, but with our schizophrenic side, who knows?

To me, this is where Arsenal appear to be unrivaled in European football. The sheer volume of overpaid, deadweight players in our squad. Is there a club out there with more dead-weight, shitty contracts on their books??? By my count, we have 8 players 25 or older that are either on loan--or worse, we can't even find a club to loan them to--because NOBODY is dumb enough to sign them?!?!
    Squillaci
    Djourou
    Santos
    Denilson
    Arshavin
    Chamakh
    Bendtner
    Park

Surely even the best clubs have a player or 2 on a contract they wish they didn't, but 8???? Denilson has been on loan for 2 years!!! Bendtner too!!!

I fully expect us to bounce back, and even if we don't win, put in a strong performance before resuming our shitfest on the weekend.

the contract thing was a lie. It was made up by some people on twitter.

IDK, I have seen much worse from Fergie and other managers. This is literally the first time Wenger has done this ever, especially after all the years of him answering their nonsensical question.

This is the press conference in full, instead of the SSN excerpt for those that have not seen it

It was blown up way out of proportion.

The only gripe I have is the "11 internationals on Saturday" (there were 9) and the " I have won it 4 times," as if it even matters, lol.

The only way we have a chance in this game is to play on the counter.

Watching any Wenger press conference is painful. His statements are always so guarded and generic. "we will do it." "there is quality." blah blah blah. If given the choice, Wenger would rather say nothing at all to the press.

This is a game when it would be reaaaal good if Diaby was able to show why Wenger has put faith in him despite all these injuries. Fact is if Diaby, Wilshere and Arteta all play at a good standard, we can seize the initiative in midfield and see how they play when thrown out of their comfort zone of having 65 odd percent possession.

Is it just me or does Arteta look seriously scared of Arsene during that interview??

to which he made a total twat of himself by blaming a journo who had nothing to do with it. then he asks for questions about the cl match tonight and then refuses to speak about bayern munich when asked.
sure, other managers have done worse, but they aren't OUR club's manager.

and our club's manager does not have a previous history of this versus other club's managers who have.

And going by what I saw in the entire interview, there was no meltdown. Dude was clearly agitated by a false story being reported.

One moment out of 17 years is nothing, especially since it wasnt really a meltdown.

Me personally, I wish he was even more angrier at press conferences because those journalists dont deserve any better.

    I agree.

Except about him winning the FA Cup 4 times. That matters.

in the context of him taking the recent FA Cups serious, it really doesnt.

But Eff those journos. I wish he went even harder at those clowns.

Nah you guys are cool. There are a few who shall not be named who I would say aren't welcomed as they try to talk their team up rather than having a civil discussion.

Back when I was a mod on the German boards here on BS, you guys were so laid back, it made life easy.
