@Dante see you talking about this in the Shield thread, figured it deserved it's own. Arrow is based off of DC comics Green Arrow it had a solid first season and going into season 2, I'm a huge fan of this show and I'm exctied to see where season 2 takes us. If you haven't watched yet, season one is now on Netflix.
another solid episode last night, a lot of big things are happening...the next episode, which will air 12-4-2013, is the episode that will feature Barry Allen...
Really digging this season, Agents of SHIELD could learn a lesson or two from them. Every episode this season has had a news segment talking about Star Labs particle accelerator, you just know something is going to happen to that. Can't wait to see what they do with Barry Allen, would have been better if he were blonde though.
http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/12/04/arrow-barry-allen-arrival-flash-pilot-video/ Flash makes his first appearance tonight.
Another top notch episode. Man I love all the easter eggs they throw in. Kord Enterprises, the Reverse Flash, Allen bitching about the chemicals while there's lighting outside, tons of stuff. And after my initial disappointment with Barry Allen not being blonde, I could totally see him being the Flash.
agreed, Grant Gustin grew on me really fast, pun intended, as Barry.... maybe after the accident it'll turn him blonde.....
I threw some nerdgasm towards the wife last night while we were watching it, when Allen was first talking about his mom being murdered and he neglected to mention his dad I was like oh in the comics she was killed by the Reverse Flash and his dad was accused and found guilty for it. Got the old eye roll from her. Then when Allen fessed up and really explained what happen I simply looked at her, pointed to the screen and nodded saying told you. Another eye roll. BTW, Geoff Johns was one of the teleplay writers for last nights episode. That was nice to see.
I liked the chemistry with the three of them Ollie, Felicity and Barry.... Love Geoff Johns, I was really upset when he left Green Lantern....
Yeah, he seemed to have good chemistry with them. It will be interesting to see if next weeks episode is the event that leads to Allen becoming the Flash. As for GL, it hasn't been the same since Johns left.
This show delivers. More than just name dropping. And the blend of action, sci-fi, & soap opera has me hooked.
what a midseason finale...a lot going on in this episode....a little over a month until the show returns...
That was an excellent episode. LOVED the final scene with Barry Allen, it's nice to see them do it the right way. Also loved the Solomon Grundy reference, and Slade Wilson's eye patch and graying hair.
yeah I loved when Barry was name dropping all of the villains that Ollie had taken out... and Barry's gift to Ollie was pretty cool too...
I'm probably in the minority, but I preferred the face paint. The mask is a little too Green Lantern for me.
Finally caught up with season 2 last night, damn good show all around, finds a great balance of action, drama, and total-tongue-in-cheek-comic-book-geekiness. There's some cheesy acting and dialogue, but somehow it feels appropriate, like they're not gonna pretend this is anything but a comic book show with all that entails.
OK, so I watched season 1 with my son, and I have to ask: Does Season 2 finally dispense with the island backstory? If it was just me, I would have bailed on season 1 half a dozen times due to the tediousness of the island. I wish they would just have made a two hour island episode and dispense with all that shit...
Huh, I love the juxtaposition with the island storyline, it functions as a sort of commentary on what's going on in the present day story (very much like how Lost worked in its early days). And considering Oliver was there 5 years I wouldn't expect that backstory to end anytime soon.
Season 1 I was also annoyed with the Island backstory....for some reason it doesn't bother me in season 2...
I don't need any commentary. And I stopped watching Lost for that same reason. It's disappointing to hear it's a feature of Season 2. Maybe my son will not be paying attention when it comes to netflix.
