    Back then, it became one of Diego and Ortega's trademark but Messi actually able to do that even more regularly even with his weaker foot

    Messi is one goal away from tying Cesar Rodríguez's record of most goals scored by a Barca player. The next match is against Granada so Messi has a good chance of breaking the record and becoming Barca's top scorer, in official matches, of all time.

    Just read that he's scored 14 goals in his last 6 matches. Dafuq? Crazy. It seems almost impossible that he can top the scoring numbers he's had in the last years yet he continues to do it.

    What is incredible is that he is going to be Barca's all time top scorer by the age of 24. It's just amazing. He went into this season 55 goals behind the record, with a very good striker you would have expected that to take 2 or 3 seasons, he'll do it before this one has even ended. :eek:

    Is 14 goals in last 6 matches including national team goals?

    In 4 WC qualifier games plus 1 recent friendly, he scored 5 goals

    If that trend continue, he would easily surpase Crespo and Diego

    At Messi's age now, Maradona just arrived at Naples. I used to think if he play in 80's serie A he's scoring rate would drop like Diego, who's scoring ratio in previous 3 clubs are 0.65 but dropped to 0.45 in serie A. However, Messi just proof me wrong by scoring like crazy against any side in Champions league which killed the myth he could only score in La liga.

    Also, the neverending comparison with Ronaldo is pretty stupid, Ronaldo is 27 while Messi is 24 and has achieved much more than Ronaldo could ever dream.

    And Messi was some type of "funk" just a couple weeks ago. I am happy that he will finally get a summer off. No major tournaments, he can go and relax his body and get some REST. I remember a couple seasons ago I asked the Barcelona fans O/U at him scoring another 42+ goals. I think a lot of them said under because Villa was coming and he would take away some goals. And he scored 50+ goals. Messi seems like he will score 60 goals this season. And that is just out of this world. If he could win another 2-3 CL trophies for them, dare I say, when it's all said and done, they retire his jersey like Napoli did with Diego's?

    Messi is playing out of his mind right now. The kid is unreal. To break Barca's goals record at the age of 24 is unimaginable. He could score 500 for Barca by the time he is 30. He is only getting better and Barca will keep surrounding him with talent.

    If he has Pele's mind he probably has scored 500 cause he would counted all his goal at youth level, training session and futsal game

    Pele and the 486,456,098,345,078 goals he has scored is comical. His goal count goes up daily, he goes in his backyard and takes a few shots into the net and counts them as goals. Every single time they show him scoring a goal, he counts that as well, even though it happened 40 years ago. Every YouTube video that gets watched under Pele is also counted as a goal.

    Garrincha>Pele.

    Some fun facts on Messi 234 goals

    Left foot = 185 goals
    Right foot = 37 goals
    Head = 10 goals
    Chest = 1 goal
    Hand = 1 goal

    Home = 132 goals
    Away = 94 goals
    Neutral = 8

    Actually Pele scored 2 billion goals and Romario scored 1.5 billion. So Messi does have a long way to go to catch them up.;)

    But, amazing, brilliant, incredible and every other superlative you can think of all apply to Messi. Even watching him on TV is a priviledge.
