Diego just ignored his coach and carried on as the coach on the pitch. Eventually the coaches realized who was boss. Messi needs to get involved. Make something happen. He hasn't been helped by the unbalanced formation Sabella has chosen.

I'd throw on Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe upfront. He'd scare the Peruvian defence into giving up goals. ;)

It's a difficult away game, it's not meant to be easy; however. giving the ball away over and over again.

btw, this has nearly been a 2hour game, feels like 2 days.

Is it possible to put Messi upfront alongside Higuain? its not like putting him in midfield seems to improve anything, it has been proven from time to time. Just put any one more midfielder and play with Higuain and Messi upfront next time.

    Lobbe or Albacete.

I'll post a Q for you on Pumas thread, but since this match is awfuk - why did the Puma get the card for knocking down the pass? isn't that a live "free" ball? Can't one "intercept that ball?

Last time we played in Peru, I believe they scored the winning gol in the dying minutes. Lets see what happens. I wouldn't mind a tie, but the way we played tonight it feels like we lost.

The midfield just hasn't been there. Sosa believe it or not has been missed. As has Kun more obviously.

As in many matters of officiating it is the official's intepretation. Cabello for me made a legitimate attempt to play the ball in making the tackle. Poite decided in his mind it was a deliberate knock down to prevent a try scoring oppurtunity.

Maxi on for Angelito. Panic stations at the moment. Coco awards a yellow card for his walk off but cannot give a red for a deliberate kick to the head......

Higuain shot saved...... Bati would have fired that in. Sabella needs to sort that midfield out.

Hard to believe what I saw against Germany has returned to this again primarily from choosing wasteofspace (Lavezzi). The Hig, Leo and di Maria don't need him to complicate matters or occupy space. Gago blows hot and cold. Today he was cold and was almost knocked out cold.

Scrappy game. One step forward two steps back. More food for thought for Alejandro. I think I saw Rojo venture a couple of times forward.

Just leave Hig,Leo and di Maria and or Kun when needed upfront and play a balanced midfield with the odd attack from the fullbacks. Worked quite well against Germany. Since wasteofspace turned up things have turned to dust.

Yes, the problem is, they just looks like an average team here.. usually team with good quality has identity, even when draw or losing the game their playing style is evidence like Riquelme era or Spain today.

Spain barely beat Georgia today. There are games like this all the time. It was a game to forget.
