A food truck rally would be sweet! Oh that's right, St. Pete doesn't allow them anywhere near downtown.
Au contraire mon frere! http://www.tampabay.com/features/food/restaurants/food-truck-rally-rolls-into-usf-st-pete/1228295 http://downtownstpete.com/events/official-st-petersburg-food-truck-rally/
WHAT?! I wasn't aware. Well that is good news, would be pretty cool to have a rally before a Rowdies home game or two this upcoming season.
Question: Should Rowdies have a vigorous Tampa marketing campaign for a year? and see what happens? I talked to alot of casual soccer fans that live in Tampa and have never been to a game at ALF because they ask me the same question: Do they still play on dirt?
Oh, absolutely. Especially now with those reprobates from VSI and that accursed USL in the picture, a vigorous Tampa marketing campaign is necessary to grind them into powder. Marketing with extra crispy bacon, and maybe some peanut butter. Otherwise, those casual soccer fans that live in Tampa and have never been to a game at ALF might actually be tempted to (gulp!) attend a Flames match. The horror, the horror!
My guess is that we'll see a much better marketing effort on both sides of the Bay due to the Rowdies hiring Dunn & Co. as their agency of record. http://www.dunn-co.com/ The same agency is on the books for the Lightning's parent company: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/4/prweb9355876.htm I have to assume, and forgive me for assuming, that this agency likely wouldn't have taken on the Rowdies without a guarantee of an actual marketing budget. But we'll see. Dunn & Co. were running things for the final couple of weeks leading up to the NASL final 2nd leg at Al Lang and the difference was night and day. I'm optimistic.
