For those who remember last year's April Fools joke, it looks like BS has used that forum software for good now. Rep appears gone, now we get "likes" and trophies, and the smilies are more touchy-feely.

It'll take a while to get used to it...

Where's the button to dislike the entire layout of the forums? Good God, this is terrible.
    It's called FOOTBALL repped this.

This is crap. It's also harder to navigate between forums. The colors are too close so that as someone else said, its hard to notice between posts.

You can't even see who people support and there are no preferences as far as how it looks.

Yeah, there's a little button before the title of the thread. If you hold your mouse over it, you'll see the pop-up. I found it worked better for me when I marked the entire forum read, then the button appears when a thread has new posts.

No. The old software, vBulletin, is over 10 years old and has proved to be more cumbersome from a servers point of view, or so I am told. I dunno if you were experiencing the lags like I was, but that was a problem with vBulletin. Anyway, it was broken and needed replacing, something BS staff/techies looked at 3 years ago (I think). They decided to put off the issue because they knew that a change like this would upset lots of folks. And we get it now. I've spent the last 2 hours playing around with this software, XenForo, and with the exception of forum navigation, this version isn't too bad.

I wished they had spent a little time adapting the new software to resemble the old format. This could be the death knell of BigSoccer.

Well, it was a tempest in a teapot around here a couple of hours ago. I bet there's lots of people who went off in a huff. I like the new look OK, just need better navigation from forum to forum.

yeah, i was. opening the forum took longer than it ought to.

moving on is just something that has to happen. hopefully, we'll eventually end up with an option to change the "style" to something more easy on the eye (not necessarily "pretty" as much as not something as bright-on-bright).

It's not terrible, and as long as some of the old stuff we used to have keeps on coming back, I'm okay with it. The old forum was a dinosaur, let's face it.

Folks, keep in mind that changes are still being made. The powers that be decided (as they have in the past) to open the site as soon as possible rather than keep it down until every single update is finished.
