Eff that, BigSoccer isn't rescheduling for anyone. If there's a conflict with the Man U - Man City game, you guys can complain to the FA and ask them to change the date of the match. Now shut up and get back to work.
Nobody said that? But BS is very a part of tradition for many fans around the world, especially those in remote areas, to partake in big game day debate. It's part of the experience for many fans.
Two features I would like are: -Built in spell checking. I downloaded the tool for this version on one PC but cannot on my work PC. I really need spell checking. -Good access on mobile devices. Browser based would be OK for me. I have a Blackberry so I am not sureI will get an app based solution. Good luck with the upgrade.
-Firefox has a built-in spellchecker, and I'm sure other browsers do as well. If they don't, surely a plugin exists.
Damn, just when I was starting to dig the arcade. This doesn't affect me personally, but kudos to you guys for being responsive to your customers.
Let's see, I'm putting the over/under on number of days it will be down after the upgrade at four. And I'm taking the over. How is it that BigSoccer.com has never heard of COOP / DRCP for things like this?
I remember during the "Great Crash" when the backups AND the backup-backups were both messed up and we went to another site for a few days. They brought the site back temporarily as they tried to restore the original backups, then all hell broke loose again for a few days. If a website changes, it just goes from the "old look" to the "new look" instantly. Heck, I remember when some computers would show a "new look" of a website instantly, whereas others would take a few days to update. For some reason, BigSoccer can't (or won't) go instantly. In this day and age, such things shouldn't take several hours.
I can only assume that they aren't using one of the leading VM options. Which is amazing in the year 2012.
Huss's sticky alert said the downtime would be "this weekend" but then he listed upcoming weekdays. Hmm. It's not really the downtime that worries me, it's the bit about changing the UI to make it better, more modern, more social, etc. I think the classic forum UI is nice. I pray that this upgrade doesn't make BigSoccer more blog-like. And that they don't abandon a ton of really good forum features that the old UI has. I'm trying to convince myself this is not going to be one-step-forward-two-steps-back.
I don't think so, but is a bit more Facebook-like, though not as obvious. It appears to be mostly just the same. That said, I'm not the boss.
I just hope that this doesn't affect my ability to login under certain moderator's handles and view the thread about me. Namely the "More Mr. Warmth namecalling" thread and the other threads detailing my greatest hits.
