    Hi everyone,

So the 4th person in our group had to back out and now we have an extra ticket to 6 different matches. If anyone is going solo without tickets and wants to join our group, or if you are travelling with friends who are going to any matches below and you don't have tickets yet, let me know...or maybe you will be in/near the cities where these matches are being played and would like to check it out.

1 ticket available for each match. You will be sitting with us.

June 12, England v USA, Category 2 seats, Rustenburg
June 16, South Africa v Uruguay, Category 2 seats, Pretoria
June 18, Slovenia v USA, Category 2 seats, Johannesburg
June 23, USA v Algeria, Category 2 seats, Pretoria
June 25, Portugal v Brazil, Category 1 seats, Durban
June 26 or 27, USA round of 16 (Rustenburg on June 26 if USA wins Group C, Bloemfontein on June 27 if USA is runner-up in Group C), Category 2 seats

If you want to join our group, don't feel like you have to commit to all 6 matches...for example, you can tag along to just the 3 USA group stage matches if you want...also, if you just need ticket(s) and don't need to tag along, that's fine too.

Send me a PM and we can work out details. Thanks.

No problem. I did a Homestay in Korea in 2002, and it was a great experience. Definitely good for the budget minded, as well as for someone interested in experiencing the local culture.

i just started toying with the idea of going to the world cup today. if i do go, it'd most likely be alone. i know it's gonna be expensive as hell, but i'd like to splurge on myself before i go into major debt later in the summer when i go back to school.

are you guys booking through travel agencies? or how does this work? what's cheaper?

IMHO, at this late stage, your best bet is a package through a travel agency. There are about a zillion of those, but I'm not sure of current availability.

yeah, i just figured that tickets shouldnt be terribly hard to come by via an agency. i read that they had loads of unsold tickets still. i'll look into it further today/tmw... maybe i can get a sweet deal

Dude, no need to pay a travel agent.

I can get you CAT-2 tix to each of the US matches for face value and I can put you in touch with some people who have lodging in Hartbeespoort Dam, which is close to Jo'Burg. Shoot me a PM for details.

Actually most of the travel agencies do not give you the match ticket. Cartan requires you to book a flight from them and offers you a hotel package with 1 or 2 match tickets but the cost is 6-8k for 2 games. Great Atlantic Travels have hotel packages but no match ticket. I think they price a cat 3 ticket at 200 extra, but they charge a 30% fee for single travelers.

I may actually book a short package at the beginning of the tourney just to get familiarize with whats going on there on the first few days. Right now I still have no idea how people can get to the matches or even around that city. Transportation may become the biggest issue because most of us are probably used to driving or taking public transport instead hailing cabs for everywhere we go.

Hope you can make it, it's going to be sweet! I've got an extra ticket to the USA/Slovenia and USA/Algeria matches and will sell them to you at face value if your interested. All tix are in the USA supporters section. PM if you're interested.

I'm going solo and will be in J'burg 6/17-6/23. I haven't booked lodging but was thinking about the University dorms. R741 for 2 bed, private room. But you have to book the whole room, so if anyone is interested and fall in that range, drop me a line!

Be in Cape Town 6/12-6/16. Do have lodging here.

I will be in J'burg probably on Wednesday (plans are in flux). Will have an extra ticket to the next 2(or 3) USA games. Would like to meet up with people there. I will have access to lodging and a car, but would not mind joining with someone there to lower expenses. So to help with ticket, lodging or just another person to share expenses and good times, reply to this or message me.
