Same here. That goes for any teams with Ecua players. They are my favorite team until they no longer play there. I remember watching Necaxa every week with Aguinaga, now I can't even name a player on that team.

That said, my main interest is that Man Utd stay in the fight for the EPL and Champions' League, and hopefully with Valencia back they can go all the way.

    landycakes hahaha

i've still been following United b/c i follow the EPL a lot in general. But if you ask me about a team like Levante after felipe caicedo leaves it then i would probably not know a thing about them.

Antonio Valencia is set to make a successful return from injury after training with the reserves recently. The Ecuadorean international winger began his road to recovery by undergoing surgery three days later, but the 25 year-old is now on course to return ahead of the initial target of mid-February, according to Alex Ferguson.

    Man Utd 2 - Sunderland 0.

They are in first place and undefeated in the league. They finished their CL group in first place.

Not to be a downer, but even IF Valencia is healthy enough to play by February, there's just no way he jumps back into the starting lineup, unless Man Utd suddenly start losing everything in January. In fact, the WORST thing that could happen is Valencia comes back and Man Utd suddenly start losing, even if it has nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately I just don't see him playing much of a part this season, other than a few sub appearances. It's still better than if he was out for the whole season as we originally thought, but I'm personally don't have major expectations to see him in some of the big PL and CL matches over the next few months.

that's the same way I think. as long as he can train with united before the Copa America and slowly get back in form without putting his health at risk I'll be glad.

I disagree. Manchester United is supposed to lose Park for most of January because of the Asian Cup. Valencia is having a speedy recovery and lets say he comes back mid January, that will be more than enough time to get some minutes (since the Asian cup ends in late January) and show that he is ready. Ferguson has to be amazed at how fast he's recovered and it says a lot about Valencia's work ethic. I'm not to worried about Valencia getting his spot back by the time the champions league continues. :)

I also agree that it woudnt be a good idea if Valencia comes back and gets rushed into playing a ton of minutes. Its not gonna happen. The most logical scenario would be that he gets some minutes as a sub in some PL games and maybe some CL games if Furguson needs someone with Valencias skills to change the complexity of a game. He will prob get some FA cup starts towards the end of the season. Remember at the begining of the season, Valencia appeared to not be fully recovered from his knee injury and it showed in that he wasnt in the form we're accustomed to seeing. I could see Valencia making some starts towards the end of the season if he shows good form in training and the minutes he gets.

Prob for the best...last thing you want is Valencia to suffer from chronic ankle problems for the next couple years (Grant Hill??) and lament 10 yrs from now and wonder how his career would have gone had he not rushed. As long as he gets 2-3 months so he can train with the first team and get some game action hell be good for the Copa America and the next season.

I don't know why alot of people were rushing his return , let him take all the time he needs to fully recover ! We need for him for COPA AMERICA, 2011/12 season , WCQ as well !

If he comes back in time to play against liverpool march 5th and plays the rest of the season, he should receive a medal ! and again I don't see why he wouldn't be on starting lineup ??? He's our best winger , NANI is very talented scores and assist's, but not as intelligent as VALENCIA when it comes to playing the right wing !
