A new Big site just for cricket fans :D

    http://www.bigcricket.com/

It was born only yesterday, so come along and help it grow.

We're still tweaking the boards and taking suggestions for new features. Sign up and give your feedback, or just talk cricket.

We've got a board for every series and as demand grows we'll add more country-specific boards.

    I'm there.

Does it make sense now to retire this forum and instead provide a link to bigcricket, since it's a sister site? That would be cool, and I think American Football has done something similar to bigfootball. In theory, Australian Football and Rugby could do similar linking to bigfooty as well, as these are all sister sites.

possibly makes sense for this one, but not sure about the rugby/footy one.

Jeff, there's already a "bigfooty" sister site for AFL.

BTW, have a look at Brett Lee's six against the Windies today, hit out of the Gabba (ie over the roof of the 3-tiered stand) and lost. :)

Yeah, it's good. I would like to see it advertised to worldwide audience and not just to people from Australia. There are some BigFooty connotations among posters there, which I couldn't care less about. With some other comments there, I felt like an outsider. So after earlier enthusiasm, now I have my reservations. Assuming it was not an Australia centric site, I would have advocated the closure of this section. Now, I don't care much about that issue one way or another.

the initial user base has the majority from BF, but that being said, its definitely not an 'aussie cricket forum'. there are already fans from various countries signed up, and trust me, as time moves on, more and more will too, give it a chance.

I go there sporadically. I have to admit, I don't have the bandwidth to be a regular poster on yet another board. Having said that, it is better to have a board dedicated to cricket - Australian majority crowd or not withstanding. As I said above, I hope over time the crowd there diversifies.

Seeing that there is no traffic in this little section anymore, I don't see any point in keeping this abode alive.

You do have to be careful when treading on those boards because they can get you into trouble for posting when they are the culprits.
