This is the kind of article title you like to see about a player coming to the Dynamo: I'll do the dirty work for Houston, says newcomer Driver
Where's this boy at?? http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...iew-before-leaving-hearts-for-houston-dynamo/ He starts talking about coming to Houston at the 6th minute mark.
I love how Andy corrects the reporter on the pronunciation of Dynamo. Very candid interview. He's pretty honest in his knowledge of the league and Dynamo and he's a realist in that he knows he'll have to fight for place. You get the sense he wants to make an impression and is not over for an adventure.
Canetti talks about his arrival on his video blog. Had to wait for his Visa or something. He said he would be here in the next day or 2.
I haven't been able to get the video to play on any device thru any type of Internet. What's wrong with me? And I asked Darrell Lovell the other day how long it would take him to start playing. He said his paperwork isn't complicated but there is no way of knowing how long the Visa stuff will take but he said once that comes through he should be pretty much game fit.
Ok, relax, I came home and got to see the video. It was good, I like the way the guy talks. Not his accent, that's a little tough. I like what he says.
It seems like he knows exactly what he's getting into over here. He isn't over confident, he's more competitive about the situation. I hope it all works for him because if it does, good things will happen in Houston!
I've got to say that I didn't expect someone born in Oldham to have a slight Edinburgh accent, he's only been there about 15 years. But then again, I guess it's not too surprising as it only took me a few years to adopt my Texas accent.
He might be best as a Cup type of role player, having been in Cup and league type scenarios in Europe which indeed are different mindsets. He's a veteran dual competition player at a relatively young age.
True, but he's getting off the plane on Friday and you're asking him to suit up a day later without ever training with the team. I mean its possible but he's needed more on Tuesday because then you will be asking Saturday starters to go on only 2 days rest. Also what kind of message is it to Barnes & Camargo who been here working their ass off this pre-season. IMO I rather Driver put in 25 minutes on Tuesday than 10 minutes on Saturday.
Supposedly he flew in last night and should be at training this morning. I considered taking off and going to watch this morning, but then thought I don't want Andrew getting the crazy idea I was stalking him. Yet. Anyway, looking forward to reports from Nigel and all. Oh, wait, I forgot to check twitter....
