Will be interesting to see how he and Darwin play together.

Mexican League? Dude should have stay in Colombia to play first division and perhaps European team would have taken him in another year or two.

    Maybe.

But we have seen young promising players take more than a year or two to be noticed by a good Euro team.

If he does well in Mexico he could go to the EPL or Porto like Rodallega and Jackson.

It took ages for them to finally make the jump. It's much easier from a financial standpoint for European team to acquire a player from Colombian league than Mexico.

Well, it can take ages depending on the team he goes to in Colombia too. Certain factors come into play like how much playing time he gets, how much depth is at his position etc.

Either way, Santos probably paid decent money for him now in hopes he can play well and they can cash in on him in a few years.

I think at the end of the day its a question of mentality. if the player just wants cash, he'll fall in love with the pay day in Mexico and be satisfied there (like a Darwin who at this point must have turned down some opps given how well he has performed in Mexico), but if he wants more then certainly the Mexican league is a decent springboard (more competitive speaking objectively than our league while far less attractive than Brasil or Arg).

    http://www.elsiglodetorreon.com.mx/noticia/821906.guerreros-toman-break-navideno.html

Another goal, this time in a losing cause ( :50):

I hope Santos allows him to play in the sub20 World Cup. I think he and Cordoba up front could be deadly.

Cordoba kind of sucked in the qualifiers.

I really hope we have some surprise players for the World Cup.

Main thing is we need a healthy Quintero and a to find a legit RB/LB. rest of the team is pretty good.

With the defenders we have at the U-20 we should try a 3-4-3

Also we are U-20 SA champions are we going to the Olympics or has Comenbol found a way to screw us out of it to send Brazil and Argentina to it.

Our last 2 U-20s. Plus Falcao, Cuadrado/Zapata and Sanchez/Ospina would be pretty sick. Even then for the extra 3 over 23 players I really can't think of any I'd really think is super important. Our last 2 sub 20s have had great rosters. Falcao as he is a huge player for us maybe a experienced goalie or CB?

Just think of our last sub 20 with Falcao up top and Ospina at goal. Think that is good enough for gold at the Olympics.(hopefully Pekermans 2nd trophy with us)

Andres Renteria basically ran a nice counter attack and assisted the 2nd goal in Santos' 2-0 victory over Penarol in the Libertadores.

Another decent goal today in CL. Working real well with Darwin who set up 3 goals. Really could have used this kid in the last U20. Our current crop of U20 kids seem very very good. Perea, Cordoba, Renteria are all getting good minutes abroad.
