Hes done at Leverkusen. He should go for a mid table team in Spain or stay in Germany?

I'm sure they realized they've been playing him out of position.

I'm sorry guardado, I thought you where done. He's playing with a smile on his face, something I haven't seen in a while. El principito is back to continue his reign.

despite Guardado's ups & downs since leaving Deportivo, it seems he has finally found his footing once again. at least with the NT.

hopefully come August either at Bayer or whatever club he lands at, he is able to find that consistency he once had

He should of stayed in Spain, if not hopefully Leverkusen learn that he performs better playing out of the position they had him in

:coffee: :coffee:

Ive never been off the Guardado wagon, ive defended him so many times on BSMX and on twitter.

Im so glad hes showing and proving all his doubters wrong and proving me right once again.:)

Im happy for him and with his performance so far. He needs to stay on the pitch.

Going forward, post world cup, we move on though.

I think alot of the criticism was of him on the wing. Which he really did lose his form big time.

The move to cm was a breath of fresh air. Im surprised no one at club level really tried him there. Im pretty sure when Depor got relegated, they used Guardado centrally pretty often, and he was always great. Dude was balling in Liga Adelante and pulled the strings.

But then it was back exclusively lw/lb since then, i dont think valencia nor bayer ever even tried him there.

He's good when the team doesn't need to rely on him for offense because he really hasn't shown much going forward. That work has been left to herrera. He hasn't been bad but he hasn't been good. He's done what mexico need of him which is just to defend and keep running.

    Surprised by Guardis.

Seems converting wingers into more central midfielders is paying off dividends this year.

    See Di Maria.

This is my gripe with Guardado.

You see Herrera connect with Gio, Oribe and Aguilar.

I don't see Andres creating anything for Oribe or Layun.

Most of our goals have come from the right side.

Yes I agree Guardis can improve in that area but please don't compare him to Herrera. Hector is on a whole different level right now. Outplaying Rakitic and Modric (RM/Barca). I never would have thought Herrera would be so good but I digress.

Guardado is in form and the feeling is back.

It's very simple, he is no longer a FB/WB like his earlier days. He also doesn't have the pace or skills to be an outright winger / wide player. In reality he never really had the elite skills to play there.

Best for him is to improve his mental part of the game and push centrally. Either in a 3 man midfield like he is doing now or move to CDM like Phillip Lahm did. He needs to be honest with himself and recognize his current limitations and abilities. He really needs to find a club that fits his current skill set because he does have quality if put in a position to succeed.

While I agree with your views (in a vacuum), Mexico has to have the ball to create danger. We are not Germany or even better example this WC, Netherlands, who can be deadly in 5 seconds. We have to recover the ball, build slowly, sorry that is how we play. And in that Guardado has proven to be key, additionally he has a decent shot from outside, and when D's start packing themselves in, one way to lure them out is to constantly try mid range shots.

    /p
