Whats the problem, why no goals? Haven't yet been able to see a Palermo game this but it amazes me he hasn't found the twine yet... From every report i have seen, Caracciolo has had chances and been robbed or come desperately to opening his account. I predicted Andrea Caracciolo would net 20 Serie A goals this season, such is my belief in this young man!
Christian Terlizzi with 4 goals in 4 games is playing the Caracciolo role thus far. The goal versus Reggina was truly a striker's goal. I just hope that with Palermo managing to start season very well even without Caracciolo hitting top goal scoring form, it bodes well for the season coming! It's nice to see teams like Palermo, Fiorentina, Roma, Udinese and Sampdoria playing great football and giving the big boys a run!
Caracciolo needs time to settle. Plus don't forget he has never been truly prolific, the most he has ever scored in a serie a season is 12, so it'll be a few years until he can score 20 +, i hope he can, but i'm not sure. anyway, he is a good player for sure and is improving all the time, he just needs some luck and he'll get rolling. As for Terlizzi, he has scored 4 important goals and has done the job for the frontline, but don't get too comfortable Makinwa and Caracciolo, he's a centre back for God sake! I too like these teams doing well, that's the reason I back Palermo, they are the true Italian team and have the potential to compete with the big boys, if not beat them. I've been a serie a fan for about 10 years and have never seen so many promising sides....before it was the top sides and then the rest, now serie a has teams like samp, palermo, viola, udinese etc. fighting at the top.
Andrea Caracciolo did indeed open his account, hope many many more to come! That said Palermo unbelievably collapsed and blew a 2-0 lead leaving empty handed 2-4 losers!
Yeah, when Santoni came out on Roschi, it kinds went south fast. I think it was 0-2 to 3-2 in 10 minutes? Oh well, we're still playing great footie.
Palermo run riot in Cyprus 4-0! Andrea Caracciolo grabs another while Makinwa (2) and Santana also score! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 1 UEFA Cup: 1
Disappointing draw for Palermo but on positive side Caracciolo has scored in back-to-back Serie A games and three straight counting UEFA Cup. An on-form Caracciolo is great news for Palermo and their European chances! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 2 UEFA Cup: 1
Disappointing draw for Palermo vs Chievo Verona but on positive side Caracciolo has scored in back-to-back-to-back Serie A games and four straight counting UEFA Cup before being kept in check in UEFA Cup group stage! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 3 UEFA Cup: 1
Andrea Caracciolo put Palermo up versus AC at San Siro on a tap-in after nice build-up work lead to Stephen Makinwa heading across the goal to a wide open Caracciolo! AC came back to win 2-1 on a beauty from Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi scored a fantastic diving header to win it after long awaited return to starting line up! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 4 UEFA Cup: 1
I thought he was decent yesterday, Palermo needs a real #10 to get him the ball in better spots. I'm surprised theres no match thread, oh well. Its hard to judge anything playing at Milan, but besides Corini I'm not that thrilled with what the Palermo midfielders create. Grosso/Barzagli are class though.
Palermo has a real #10, Franco Brienza, who was a favorite of Guidolin but Del Neri keeps him on the bench. He was good last year and even got a NT call-up. But Del Neri loves his rigid 4-man midfield and doesn't seem to worry about creativity.
not sure he's a classic #10, but certainly a good offensive talent. Maybe a second forward, creative type... I cant blame Del Neri for going defensive in Milan, but most times theres no need for Muturelli over Brienza.
Caracciolo frustrated by ‘Toni tag' http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/nov16h.html Andrea Caracciolo has grown tired of being measured up to his predecessor at Palermo. "Stop comparing me to Luca Toni," he pleaded today.
Scores along with Makinwa to put Palermo 2-0 up, but Palermo cannot buy a win currently and game ends 2-2! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 5 UEFA Cup: 1
Palermo hoped that Caracciolo's move from Brescia would be similar to the move the Rosanero made for Toni (also aquired from Brescia). Both are big, physical players, however, Toni has many intangibles that Caracciolo might never develop.
Game winner in the Stadio Olimpico BIG BIG BIG!!! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 6 UEFA Cup: 1
i dont know why contract with him and with makinwa .. palerom can contract with classic striker from makinw and Caracciolo money .. but Caracciolo not bad ..very good job to now ..but he need time ..
Scored versus Reggina on the weekend...Paredes stole two poiints with a wonder strike! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 7 UEFA Cup: 1 Coppa Italia: 1
Scores again in midweek versus Lazio in 3-1 win for Palermo! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 8 UEFA Cup: 1 Coppa Italia: 1
Scored versus Ascoli on Sunday! Andrea Caracciolo - Goalscoring Statline:- Serie A: 9 UEFA Cup: 1 Coppa Italia: 1
Well after riding the pine most of the season, the injury blow to Amauri means Andrea Caracciolo will have his chance for a while! What does he do, scores winning goal in 2-0 win versus a very decent Udinese team, for Palermo's sake I hope he gets going again!
When I heard this morning that Caracciolo had scored I was glad because I've been a fan of his since he had a couple of 12 goal seasons with crappy Brescia teams. Then I saw a replay of the goal and, frankly, he couldn't have missed this one. The Udinese defenders left him completely alone. I'm not sure if they were trying to play him offside or if they just missed him. Nonetheless it's good that he scored and maybe this will raise his confidence.
