I watched the game on Sunday night, Toluca is NOT the best team to send to the CCC. They won because 2 Monterrey players were gone. Anyone can win if the opposition is 2 men down and the score is tied.

I'm going to go with New England...

Usually, MLS teams stink at this competition due to A) the timing of the whole thing, coming in our off-season and B) the fact the the teams represented are often gutted after salary cap issues.

However, this time the Revolution will be pretty much intact and will have more of its key players in match shape due to so many getting called in to the National team camp and subsequent friendly matches in January and February.

I see your optimism has returned... ;)

In my opinion both MLS teams will struggle to get past the first round. At best one of them will make the semis, but it ends there.

Well, i don't know if i would call it optimisim. I think NE will go out in the first round and LA because of a couple things will have a coinflip chance of beating Saprissa.

LA is about the only MLS side that i think could do anything in a knock out compotition. They have a pretty decent track record in the CCC and if this would start latter like say in April i would give them the same odds as the Costa Rican teams to win it.

Still, i would be shocked if America doesn't win.

I wouldn't say it like that, but NE is at a severe disadvantage in this match because they will not get a true home game.

alajuela is pretty decent, they won the CCC in 2004, but barely got by San Jose in the first round 3-2. In fact alajuela was very lucky to not have lost 4-0 or 5-0 in that return leg at Spartan because SJ was all up in their ass that game.

I like LA's chances over NE because LA is a proven tournement team.

Alajuela is stronger than any MLS team.

It was 3-1 actually. LDA was content defending the 3-0 lead in the second leg at Spartan...

Your right, for some reason i thought they won 2-0 in that leg. Might be thinking of the Fire game against Saprissa that was 3-2.

    but we don't have to

alajuela is stronger than any mls team

i do think LA has a chance of beating saprissa, but only if landy cakes plays, and if hartman loses weight, and if saprissa ends up selling their best players
