2 Points 1) Mullan's tackle on Zakuani bordered on being criminal. 2) The quality of your writing has improved dramatically in this post. Seemingly, you have either educated yourself, in which case "good on ya" or you have shamelessly been putting Rapids fans on for the past years.
Since the thread is about names, I'm just curious where the name Class VI came from. I've always wondered. Now it'll just be a history lesson for me, but I'm still curious.
I assumed that Class VI referred to the rating system for white water rapids. Just like they have ratings for ski slopes (i.e. black diamonds), they have ratings for rapids and class 6 is the most difficult.
Also, in the US Air Force and Army, the Class VI is where you purchase alcohol on an installation. I always assumed that had something to do with it as well
Class VI: The difficulties of Class V carried to the extreme. Nearly impossible and very dangerous. For teams of experts only. Involves risk of life. Class VI rapids are not commercially raftable. http://www.wetplanetwhitewater.com/rafting-trips/class-system/
