"Pra muitos as boas atuações do Willian acabaram com as chances do Kaká... e consequentemente do Ronaldinho também."

Quando o narrador é tão sem noção assim... wtf.

5x0 Neymar hat-trick, Jô with a sensible header.

IMO, we saw the good and bad of Neymar in this game and he ends up with a hattrick.

Alves actually connected on a cross for once. He hit Jo. Could we be lucky enough to see him hit on more in the WC?

I saw nothing real noteworthy from the strikers outside the assist.

Neymar reaches 30 goals with the senior Selecao.

Fernandinho basically cemented his spot on the team. Rafinha was discrete. I would think Felipao calls up Maicon after this. I'm still in doubt whether Willian or Hernanes will go. It seems like Willian is the favorite, but maybe Hernane can convince Felipao with some good performances at Inter. Other than this, the third GK and fourth CB spot are up for grabs.

I didn't think Fred was THAT bad. He was involved on some dangerous build up. You also have to remember that he has barely played in the last 6 months and is finally getting a sequence of games under his belt. Many people also complained that Fred 'disappeared' in previous games before his breakout in the CC.

A nice win against a weak opponent who did not qualify for the World Cup. Still I'm pleased that the defense was reliable, that Neymar is constant, that Fernandinho hit that scorcher, and that Ramires and Oscar mostraram serviço. Rafinha at least did his job marking.

2 months and 2 days until we get the final roster.

May 7 is the 30 man roster. Hopefully it's not like 2010 when CBF and Dunga seemed unaware they had the extra 7 spots on the first list and just added some names more for PR than anything else.

I think they both can go if Scolari insist on 2 strikers.

I don't mind him having the freedom to be individualistic, but his success rate at what he tried was very poor. Yes without the ball he was good. But for me he was very ineffective today. Luckily we have strength in other parts of the team and we don't have to over depend on the brilliance of one player.

I thought Fred was moving well. But the plays didn't really develop in a way to involve him more. Sometimes that happens to strikers. So it's tough to say he had a bad game.

I'm sorry, but I still think we need to play with 3 centerbacks like in '02 cause T. Silva and D. Luiz partnership kinda scares me

I wonder whether Hernane, who has been a goalscorer for Flamengo, would be on the 30-man list - and whether Robinho might be on it as well.

I don't think anyone who has not been called up would be on a 30-man list. Robinho almost definitely will be. I'll revise my prediction to the one I already made (and was fairly on the money for this call-up) in the Seleção thread. But TLDR: same 30 man roster predicted, with Fernandinho now on the inside track.

That assist from Fred was nice. I'm not seing how he had a bad game. David Luiz was really good too.

If he has a good libertadores he should get a shot on the 30 man roster.

I don't think the strikers had a bad game. I just didn't notice them. I saw everybody else involve to an extent.

I'm trying to predict Felipão's roster, not my roster (or yours, or any other fans) and I see no indication that a good streak at this point would move Hernane ahead of anyone who has actually played for Felipão.

I don't find it impossible, but definitely unlikely and not based on any actual evidence, just a shot in the dark.

Lol I wasn't commenting on "your" predictions. Trying to predict something in another man's mind isn't a science btw.
He will have way more time to work with players when the 30 is called up so I wouldn't call seeing a new face pie in the sky at all. Look at the options at number 9 and take into account Fred's injury history. Predicting Fernandhino really wasn't that difficult-- his form at Man City pretty much required it.

Best for me were Marcelo, Oscar, Luiz. Hulk was good too.

So Fernandinho almost sealed his spot .He's a much more versatile player than Lucas Leiva anyways.
Not sure what Scolari is going to do about Hernanes. With Paulinho and Fernandinho in the team, Hernanes could be a better player to have than Ramires..There is no backup for Oscar at present.

That's why Alves was tried at LB today. Felipao is trying to cheat in the FB spot. He wants to take 3 FBs instead of 4 so that he can get one more midfield player in the final 23.
