Thank you, fictional cliche of a hard-boiled, tough-as-nails truthsayer. Are you pounding your fist on a desk full of papers when you say that to a subordinate messenger? Or are you screaming it into a phone and then slamming it down? Or are you actually in a Clint Eastwood western, with your hand quivering above your holster? Either way: Super cool bro!
The problem with that timeline is, the Egypt storming didn't happen at 5pm EST. (Actually EDT, the Examiner got the time marks wrong.) USA Today, in a post timed before even noon EDT, has the "apology" as after the fact. 5pm EDT would be midnight Egypt time. The pictures shown of the incident in Egypt are in the day. So no, the "apology" did follow the attack.
That was a mistype. And the time you quote is for an update to the original article, which still takes place before the Examiner claimed the raid even began.
But the DAY after something happens and w/o any particular demonstrable set of facts much less foreseeable conclusion, especially after a perceived. (ie not certain) AQ-orchestrated attack on US territory (which is what an embassy is)? Really I must have dreamed the two or 3 years of light judgement on W after 9/11 a very demonstrable proven AQ planned attack on the US ... Btw (for the poster who mentioned Moore) his movie came out years after not right away...
History lesson: What Ronald Reagan said "...because Republicans have frequently likened President Obama to Jimmy Carter, we were curious to learn how candidate Ronald Reagan responded to the worst foreign policy disaster on Carter’s watch — the failed mission to rescue U.S. diplomats in Iran, resulting in the deaths of eight servicemen. In April 1980, Reagan was still battling George H.W. Bush for the GOP nomination, while Sen. Edward M. Kennedy was challenging Carter for the Democratic nomination. Bush was most outspoken, saying, "I unequivocally support the president — no ifs, ands or buts. . . . He made a difficult, courageous decision." In strikingly similar formal statements, which they declined to amplify, Reagan and Kennedy expressed sympathy for the family of the eight men killed in the rescue effort, and pledged to preserve "national unity" in the cause of the hostages' release. Before breaking off his Michigan campaigning to return to Washington, Kennedy said, "I share the feeling of all Americans at this sad moment for our country. . . . Whatever our other differences, we are one nation in our commitment to the hostages, our concern for their families, and our sorrow for the brave men who gave their lives trying to rescue their fellow citizens." A few hours later, Reagan told a Los Angeles press conference, "This is a difficult day for all of us Americans. . . . It is time for us . . . to stand united. It is a day for quiet reflection . . . when words should be few and confined essentially to our prayers."
I am so tired of liberal apologists because they quite haven't learned in the Arab world that diplomacy is the end of gun, not a keyboard.
see, they do hate us for our freedoms. they hate the fact that in the US, people are free to make a really, really terrible movie about anything they wish.
some people just love to riot, pillage and kill. they just need an excuse. the brits have soccer. Raiders fans have Halloween - and Raiders home games. The Irish have alcohol. and apparently arabs just need a perceived insult for the prophet. seriously, these guys have been actively rioting and killing each other for over a year now. you would think they could use a break. but no! instead, let's look for another excuse to keep going!
The timeline here is (and correct me if I'm wrong) 1.) The hubbub over the film starts. From my understanding, this was brewing for a while 2.) The US State Department issues a statement about religion (not really an apology) 3.) The militants/protesters attacked the embassy 4.) Blame Obama 5.) Profit
at some point I guess it becomes a way of life. they don't know any other way to live. they don't know any other way of resolving their differences. they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they didn't have something to riot over.
I just watched that entire YouTube clip. It's actually shocking that today, when it's so easy for people of modest means and modest skill to make pretty decent looking videos, that this guy made something so badly produced that I'm quite positive that a few bored pre-teens could make a video that would look more professional. This was my favorite shot -- a desert scene, portraying circa 600AD. Nice tire tracks.
reminds me of the powerboat you can see in one of the scenes in The Ten Commandments. Or was that just proof that god wanted us to use all the fossil fuels Hey, aren't those the tires on a 1963 Pontiac Tempest?
Romney gets capital of Libya wrong in press conf criticizing Obama on foreign policy (either that or he doesn't know what an embassy is)
