Anyone else cringe when the girl said that changing gears was hard, so they just kept it in 1st the whole time?

Yeh! She wasn't the only one who practiced with a stick the week before the race.
My fav was the kid who said "It's like a video game" That's his analogy to life. He needs to get out, off his game boy. He couldn't change gears either, his sister? Pointed out that the clutch was on the left.
Then there was the "I'm better than all these people" Italian (wonder if he's ever seen Italy?) with the German? Girl friend. Just put the pedal to the metal and hold it there!

Bet they bit themselves when the father and son won the stage. (They had cancer you know.)

    Heh, cringe.

Still, I have to say I like them (no bickering, no whining about the challenges). Conner in particular is one of the stronger competitors in TAR history based on the evidence so far.

Yeh, a little harsh wasn't I? But I think we all got it first time.
Funny how all this rhetoric and parroting has worked it's way into all competitive programs. Even cooking shows

Guess we're home tonight, so..... The New Zealand episode wasn't bad, some fun challenges involved. Got to admit it was interesting because I lived there for a few years, my daughter still does.
Didn't notice where they were off to tonight.

This leg was all kinds of awesome. All of the challenges were problematic, with all sorts of places to go wrong. Everything had some cool cultural or local component to it, and some hilarity ensued when the egotistic couple (okay, the guy) first went to the wrong place and then built their fruity thing poorly. So good.

You could say that guy "Roy Miller'd" it last night.

His woman had such a look of shock and disappointment last night at the finish line...Usually the eliminated team has this magnanimous moment of reflection right after they've been told they've been eliminated "we gave it a good effort, we got to see the world, this has been a great experience, this will make us stronger, blah blah". The guy was going in to having his moment like that, but the girl just had this WTF is this moron talking about look on her face.

Fantastic leg. Every challenge was potentially hard.

I think he was trying to talk his way out of fcuking up by not using the express pass at two different points.

I also thought the father/son team erred by using the express pass when they did. The Dad could fish. There are going to be challenges that he won't be able to complete. Ig they're serious about staying in as long as they can, they probably would have been better off hanging onto the pass.

"This sort of thing is easy for me, I'm very detail oriented..!"

The look on the Balianese guys face when he started to copy his flowers.

You had to cringe in embarrassment for him....his girlfriend did.

I laughed uproariously. A couple of years ago there was a house painting challenge in Chile where teams had to go into a neighborhood and find a certain combo of things at one of the row houses. One of the teams barged into this house where construction workers were at work and took over, painting the whole thing, and then asked for their clue. These dudes stood around confused and amused the whole time, much like that fellow in Bali - but where did that team get those skirts -- took them from the lady there?

Yes, don't know where he got that idea from...pulled it out of his bottom like so many of his other ideas that day.
    Classic AR moments..:)

    Yes and no.

They over-estimated the other teams and the injury itself and didn't expect to last, leave alone win, a round without the express pass as things stood.

eliminated with the express pass was absolutely hilarious. instant classic. his reaction when she tells him 'all the teams are here'...priceless. excuses and delusions from him even in the post-interview, damn she looked pissed lol hope she dumped that weasel.

Who goes tonight or have we had a non-elim leg yet?
Team 'Mullet' have been flirting with last place for a while, think they can get their act together? I dunno!

This leg could have been lots of fun if the father/son combo didn't have to bail out so he could have surgery. Everything became a fait accompli at that point. But the bizarro-socialist pop anthem was quite the little ear worm!

All in all this was a good week, easy to watch with some good challenges. I can never get the names straight. The Hockey guys made quick work of the show and Winnie and Pam have completely upset the epitath "bimbo" I called them after the first couple of shows. They continue to do a very good job, they are smart and fun.
I so wanted that really annoying fakey Joey the twit to get bitten by the scorpion and be airlifted out of the show.
Mullet man thought he was on the set on Lion King. "You do know it was a cartoon?"
Max and Katie are still clueless, She with her Bushmen stink (While the Hocky men revealed that they and their body odor are getting stronger.) and he, Max, is such a know it all until it comes time to do something. Too bad it wasn't an ellimination round.

My freshmen roomate in college was a hockey player. I don't think I've ever encountered a more foul smell in my life then sweaty hockey equipment being laid out in front of a fan to get dry.

I am 100% with you on this, I so want him gone.

I got a kick out of the bushmen saying they wanted the blonde's and that one was going home with him.

Another good, entertaining show last night. Africa has been good to them this year.

Wrong couple went home though. Just when I was getting to like the girls they screw up and leave Max in it.
I was rooting for the crocs and hoping Joey would fall in, no such luck though. The speed trap made life interesting...for some. Not much different from anywhere else in the world, was it.

What gets me is how inept some people are in challenges. I mean punting a boat for goodness sake..:)

One thing I'm loving is the absence of cab-drivers who don't know their a$$es from their elbows, making and breaking the teams. Anyone else think it has been a conscious decision by the show to have fewer cab-ride situations?

They had a couple episodes already this season with clueless cabbies.
