Yawn. Doubt we even see him this game. Sunderland struggle to score and Jozy comes in and saves the day! I wish.

Altidore on the bench but Vergi and Cattermole still on the field...

I could see Borini grabbing something here, but I Mannone is going to have to stand on his tete to save this one.

Woo hoo - Sunderland v West Ham... this is obviously going to be a goal feast... but got some papers to mark, so gonna keep this on in the background with hope that Altidore eventually comes on...

I think 0-0 is 1-1 odds at ladbrokes.

This is pretty much do or die for S'land after the Palace Chelsea this weekend. If they can't strap it on for this one, the may as well starting changing the signage tonight.

Andy Carroll gets above everyone and heads the corner home for a goal.

There's Andy Carroll, justifying his $60,000,000 price tag....

And once again S'land keeps a clean sheet.... for 10 mins!

Such a drag their strikers suck - they'd win for sure if they could score 4 goals a game! Lol.

Cattermole with an open shot from 10 yds, right at the keeper.

at least the chance Jozy will get to stretch his legs just went up. 60 min Jozy sighting, with S'land down 2-0.

Unless Jozy gets on, I'm rooting for a clean sheet. Got Demel on my fantasy team and I'm pushing for the top 3 in my league. ;)

Great PbP on the BBC matchtracker - what's the point in playing 3 center backs if none of them mark Carroll on the corners?

    Trainwreck!

It wasn't like Carroll had a free header. It was a good corner and Carroll just gets up above everyone else.

And Borini has S'land best chance of the game as he dives in the box and doesn't come close to getting a call.

    HT: Sunderland 0-1 West Ham

    Wickham has been ineffective.
14/17 passing, mostly backwards to midfielders, dispossessed twice, 1 foul drawn, 1 foul committed.

I only have half of one eye on a computer feed so I'll take your word for it, but it looked like he was not very tightly marked. It's not like his aerial ability is unknown.

HT stats for Sunderland: 62% poss. w/ 7 shots, three of which came from long distance.

Number of shots by a forward = 0. Borini and Wickham combined for 6 TOs and 3 FKs won.

I think I'm having computer issues. I swear I've seen this same exact Sunderland gameday thread about 20 times before.

Sunderland has no clue how to attack. How many times did Bridcutt and Ki get the ball and everyone is stationary? And I look at Bardsley and think. "You're a guy that's wide that can't dribble past his man. No wonder you're ineffective." This team has plenty of issues but they lack talent. Most of these guys are Championship caliber, players in my opinion, Bardsley, Cattermole.

Is Adam J hurt or something? He has more goals than all of S'land combined. Did he Harkes Mrs. Poyet? I mean, Jozy sitting, ok, but Johnson? Shrug.
