For this, I think either Yaya or Modric for Pirlo. Yaya if you want more defensive or Modirc if you want more attacking. Modric, if need be, can play a defensive-type mid.

And Modric needs to be in the middle. If you watch any Spurs matches, he tends to get lost on the wings.

Also, for these teams, Bale is not a good enough LB. He is more of a very speedy winger, but both CR and Ribery are well ahead of him at this stage of his career.

    My team:
    GK: Handanovic (Slovenia)
    RB: D. Alves(Brazil)
    CB: Kompany (Belgium)
    CB: Puyol (Spain)
    LB: Evra (France)
    DM: Schweinsteiger (Germany)
    CM: Modric (Croatia)
    LW: C. Ronaldo (Portugal)
    RW: Rooney (England)
    FW: Messi (Argentina)
    FW: Drogba (Ivory Coast)

I was tempted to put in Miacon at RB, but Bale's absolute destruction of him (yeah, I know, it was last season) is still fresh in my mind.

Would be interesting to see an all-Africa or all-Asia team. My knowledge of those players is not that great.

    Messi-------Ronaldo-------Neymar
    Xavi---------Toure---------Vidal
    Cole---Kompany---Chiellini--Lahm
    ----------------Cech

Hazard and Ozil just miss out (because I wanted Kompany and Lahm in, and also because a 4-3-3 isn't Ozil's ideal formation). Cech gets the nod due to the CL victory - I'd have had Buffon or Casillas ahead of him if we weren't limited to one per country.

    Nat'l Team:
    England
    Now:

    -------Messi---RVP---Ronaldo
    --------Xavi---Toure---Ozil
    Cole---Kompany---Ivanovic---D.Alves
    ----------------Buffon

Subs: Cech, Vidic, Vidal, Bale, Ribery Ibra, Modric or Lewandowski

Could always swap Ozil and Buffon for Pirlo and Neuer, take your pick with Vidic or Ivanovic. Found it hard to get a Frenchman in without shuffling the whole formation though.

    All time:

    ------Cruijff-Pele-Eusebio
    ----------Maradona
    -------Bozsik-Beckenbauer
    Maldini-Moore-Santamaria-Thuram
    --------------Yashin

Subs: Zamora, Figueroa, Ockwirk, M.Laudrup, Best, Charles, Dalglish (or maybe Nordhal or Spencer)

Again an issue with France, clearly Platini is the best ever French player (inb4 zizou kids) but Thuram fills a problem spot with the absence of maurauding Brazilian right backs and besides Bozsik provides better balance in midfield behind an already loaded attack. Refusing to drop any of the front four.
