Even if you don't read the papers the games still get played; with the usual parade of winners and losers.

Indeed, the papers make miserable reading for the managers and fans of Aviators, Yellowcake Phantoms and Pork Soda.

Even a name change can't hide the fact that AC TIG is not much better than Surreywood Rangers.

Thankfully there's some Christmas cheer just around the corner and a New Year to look forward to.

Getting Ready For The Christmas Rush

We wish you a Merry Christmas and an Happy New Year.

Everything has been updated ahead of tonight's Gameweek 17 matches.

    Previous Gameweeks.....

    >> Gameweek 14.

    >> Gameweek 15.

We were in France last weekend and I'll be off to the Czech Republic for Christmas; moving through Slovakia and Hungary, then possibly on to Slovenia or Croatia as we see in the new year.

Gameweeks 17, 18, 19 and 20 might not get put online until we get back.

For Gameweek 20 we'll be down to 31 teams as the team at the bottom of the league after the Gameweek 19 score update drops out.

Hopefully I can manage to grab the end of Gameweek scores while we're on the road.

We then move onto a new scoring system.....

The top five highest scores each week are awarded the following points: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

If there's a tie on weekly score, the team higher in the league on Gameweek 19 gets the advantage.

After each week's update, the league's bottom team drops out.

Uh-oh, the Padawans are in trouble now. Much to learn, they have. Still in this competition, I am surprised to be. :)

Be Careful What You Wish For

Earlier in the the season, when In off the post were runaway leaders of the All Rocks League, I made a wish to the tooth fairy.

My confidential request was to be challenging In off the post by the New Year.

Well, I am..... but In off the post have fallen from top of the perch so drastically that we're almost both competing with Hal for a relegation spot out of Very Small Rocks.

    League Table

Let the All Rocks League eliminations begin.

    :(

Farewell, AC TIG; although there's still some chance for a little consolation in the All Rocks Super Cup, when they meet Denocmuppet in Gameweek 24.

    All Rocks Super Cup

    Match 21 - Winner GW5 vs Winner GW6
Park Lane vs ThiKu Mariners FC (48:37)

    Match 22 - Winner GW7 vs Winner GW8
FC Touchline Ban vs Aviators (23:48)

This sets up the juicy Park Lane vs Aviators pairing in Gameweek 25; alongside blechs_dawgs vs ColdDogSoup FC.

ThiKu Mariners FC and FC Touchline Ban will therefore be playing a knockout match on Gameweek 26; alongside FC Springfield and Sasha Juniors.

It's time to watch the fireworks all over again.

The All Rocks Super League Can Be Oh So Cruel

    Gameweek 20:

Although we're still waiting for the Tottenham vs Everton double gameweek match to play out on January 11th, I thought we'd take a quick look at how things might unfold.

    New Scoring

The top five highest scores each week are now awarded the following points:
    5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

If there's a tie on weekly score, the team higher in the league on Gameweek 19 gets the advantage.

After each week's update, the league's bottom team drops out.

AC TIG were the first team to drop out last week, and with 51 points they're currently among this week's leading scorers.

To avoid elimination this week, Yellowcake Phantoms need to finish in the top three and hope Lees Summit Rangers don't make the top five (that part looks locked in - which means even 2 points for fourth would save Jay's team from the drop).

    :)

Other teams in the low pressure zone that could join AC TIG over the coming weeks (if they don't make top five appearances) include - in danger zone order - Pork Soda, KeyserSoze Wanderers, Ram It In There!, Jedi Padawans FC, FC Weymouth and Aviators.

    Provisional Gameweek 20 Scores.

    ChrisSuttonsSlippers 53
    352 Sizzle 52

    BiggerBoat 21
    Denocmuppet 20
    FC Weymouth 18
    Lees Summit Rangers 18

In off the post are currently the benchmark for the last 16.

Anyone below 50 points - in the All Rocks Super League standings - will not make the last 16.

    http://1800-worldcup.com/fantasy/2012/gameweek20.htm

wewunwunce, blechs_dawgs, FC Springfield, Park Lane, Denocmuppet, London St. Germain and 352 Sizzle all need to get in the top five positions (a number of times) over the coming weeks, if they seriously hope to make the knockout stages.

Just a reminder that in the All Rocks Super Cup this week, it's losers drop out.

    Match 23 - Loser GW5 vs Loser GW6
FC St. Pauli vs In off the post (23:35 provisional)

    Match 24 - Loser GW7 vs Loser GW8
Pittsadelphia FC vs Pork Soda (37:30 provisional)

It's interesting the official site got the bonus points updated for the matches played so far. This season they have been waiting until the last game has been played before updating. With such a long gap before the final match next week they got it updated -- I like.

    Gameweek 20 - It's Official

    Gameweek 20:

The second team to drop out of the All Rocks Super League is...... Yellowcake Phantoms.

    All Rocks Super Cup

Just to rub it in, FC St. Pauli and Pork Soda turned their matches around in the All Rocks Super Cup to prove that it's a game of two halves.

FC St. Pauli vs In off the post (47:44) -

    Match 24 - Loser GW7 vs Loser GW8
Pittsadelphia FC vs Pork Soda (55:58)

And as a footnote, last week's loser - AC TIG - scored a very respectible 60.

    Who's Next For The Chop

KeyserSoze Wanderers, Pork Soda and Lees Summit Rangers are in the danger zone; although in all probabilty it's drop time for Lees Summit Rangers, unless they get the highest score of the week and Pork Soda fail to make the top four.

Even second would do for Rangers, if Pork Soda don't make the top five.

If the bottom two both turn it around, then KeyserSoze Wanderers could be in deep trouble.

    The Great Escape Begins

No surprises this week, except to say that Yellowcake Phantoms posted the highest score; a week too late.

Odds of Lees Summit Rangers doing similar next week have now been reduced, by all online bookmakers.

Alas, it's all chest strutting bravado.

On a more positive note, Hal's Aviators are trying to get back on the knockout-qualifying trail with a handsome three points scored.

KeyserSoze Wanderers spoiled the party somewhat, by following them into the escape tunnel with 5 pts.

Nothing more than a Gameweek top two score will do for Pork Soda. Even that may not be enough if the other three teams are also in the top five.

Word is out that Pork Soda could be looking for a new manager next season.

    Looking ahead

As Pork Soda drops out of the competition, six teams will be looking closely at one another.

352 Sizzle (43pts), Aviators (43pts), KeyserSoze Wanderers (42pts), Jedi Padawans FC (40pts), FC Weymouth (40pts), and Ram It In There! (39pts) are all effectively in troubled waters.

352 Sizzle, with the 6th best score this gameweek, is only in danger of going under if the other teams all finish in the top five - in reverse order.

Now if that were to happen, it would be the badest mother of all bad mother gameweeks in the history of All Rocks competitions.
