I sometimes consider myself a prophet. I'm really humble even though I'm almost always right, and super nice and good looking ands stuff. And yet, I too find myself persecuted here from time to time.

Oh, and you're cool Jeff. I don't know how you'd do it.

    Roma, America's team.

Gotta give BeIn credit. They seem to be picking up as many Roma matches as they can get their hands on.

Zeman's got some young studs on that back line. They're getting better each game.

    Roma miss Lamela.

Meanwhile , Hudson mentioned that DDR was spotted in London this week.
Fine, collect your 50 million and move on .

Im sure Bradley does. He connected too well with Lamela before and you could tell he kind of struggled without him this time. He probably works best with Lamela than any other in the squad.

Yes, they should be challenging for at least 3rd place. They have had some bad hiccups earlier, but are finding their form.

yeah. Him and Osvaldo were at a Rolling Stones concert...

Roma needs ball moving, mobile defenders and Gonzo ain't it.

Maybe but you also basically said Bradley wasn't good enough when the season started.

No, I said realistically where he was on the depth chart when he came to Roma. There's a difference.

I was one of about 2 people from the Roma forums here that was behind the deal.

I like Omar, and think he's one of the more promising defenders we have. But I don't think he'd fit at Roma. You have to be very fast and excellent at 1v1s in Zeman's system, and even then you are still probably going to concede goals. Which is why we've conceded 24 already.
And I don't think he's better then Castan or Marquinhos. So he'd be fighting for a back up space with Burdisso at best, and Roma also have a young Roman CB waiting on the sidelines to get his chance as well who Zeman seems fond of.
I hope Gonzo goes to the Premier League next season. I think he will have the best chance of growing there.

Gonzo doesn't seem like a good fit in Italy. 1. It's hard to get over there because of the non Euro issues. 2. He's a bruiser, not a "ball on the ground" defender. He'd do well in the UK, Northern Europe, and probably Germany or France.

Agree, we had a bruiser in Serie A, how'd he do? I know, I know, terrible comparison with his injury status. I don't think Gonzo has the quickness of feet to match up well in the Italian league. That being said, he could develop exceptional positioning that would make up for that weakness, and there aren't many better places to develop a young defender than surrounded by Italians.

Gonzalez is a lumbering guy; he's going to have problems with smaller guys.

He's gotten much better with his distribution, though.

Here are the ratings from La Gazzetta dello Sport for Siena 1-3 Roma:

    Siena: 5.5
    Pegolo: 6.5
Neto: 6.5 (chosen as Siena's best player)
    Contini: 6
    Felipe: 5.5
    Sestu: 6
    Vergassola: 5.5
    Bolzoni: 6.5
    Rubin: 5
    Rosina: 6
    Reginaldo: 4.5
    Valiani: 5.5
    D’Agostino: 5
    Calaiò: 5
    Larrondo: N/R
    Cosmi (coach): 5.5

    Roma: 6.5
    Goicoechea: 6
    Piris: 6
    Marquinhos: 6
    Castan: 6
    Balzaretti: 6
    Bradley: 5
    Tachtsidis: 6.5
    Perrotta: 6.5
    Florenzi: 6.5
    Pjanic: 6
    Totti: 6.5
Destro: 7 (chosen as Roma's best player)
    Marquinho: N/R
    Zeman (coach): 6.5

The comment with Bradley's rating: "The weak link in midfield: born to play centrally, he struggles mightily on the outside in a 3-man line. Also because he's not the most mobile and Bolzoni, his opposite, ran twice as much. Was better when Roma went to a 4-4-2 and he was one of the two in the center."

The part i have an issue with (perhaps a question):
"he struggles mightily on the outside in a 3-man line."

I imagine they're basing that off this one performance? Stupid...

The last two games he was very good and he was in the middle so its probably based off of those matches.

I like him in the intermedio role more but not as far advanced as he was playing yesterday, he was trying it seemed to fill the role Pjanic play in midfield and it didnt go too well. Still worked hard though and ill take that all day long.
