I’d reckon he’s like me, circumcised and doesn’t eat pork. He’s probably culturally Muslim, just like there are many Europeans who don’t go to church but consider themselves Christian.

You guys may need to do more research on Viera. He is of Portuguese desent (hence the name) and at best could of had (and probably did) Moor ansestors but his ansestors may have converted Catholic. I could be wrong but most likely he's Catholic.
So you don't need to get circumcised, start vasting (as converts probably never did before) and learn Arabic? It'd surprise me Jewish converts don't need to learn a minimum of Hebrew. I know that chadissist Jews have to be able to speech a few Tora verses by heart at a very young age (it's like the holy communion in Christianity) so therefore you need a minimum knowledge of basic Hebrew?
Some precisions about french players i know !! Zinédine Zidane is muslim by his parents, but he don't care about religion, his wife is french and catholic and his 3 sons have occidentals surname : Enzo, Lucas and Théo. Thierry Henry and Pat Vieira are not muslim at all !! Nicolas Anelka is born christian but convert him recently to Islam. Djibril Cissé is born muslim but convert him to Catholic religion.
I dont know about Viera being Muslim but he probably is if Mad Theory said he saw him at a mosque, unless he was one of those people lighting them on fire and Zidane has a full Muslim name, his name is Zeynelaabedin, who is the 4th Imam and his middle name is Yazid, who had killed Imam Hussein
and about RvP, I am not sure if he is muslim, but wikipedia says that he became good friends with his schools Morrocan janitor (lots of Morrocans in Holland) and he converted, Im not sure about this, but it is believeable
I saw on a program on Dubai Sports that Gabriel Batistuta has recently converted to Islam(after spending time in the qatar league I suppose) and is now a muslim and he has chosen a muslim name "mustafa" I kid you not.
As far as I know Van Persie is muslim. He married a Morrocan girl and converted. He grew up in an area in Rotterdam were a Morrocans are in the majority. A lot of his friends are from Maroc, his nickname is 'Marokaantje' or Little Morrocan
yes but if someone met him in a mosque, then he most certainly is a muslim, plus 99% of Senegal is muslim. And as far as names go, the Omar Sivori, the argentine legend had a muslim name but I doubt that he ever was a muslim.
I saw a few weeks ago a report on the recent wedding of Patrick Vieira, and I am practically sure that it was a christian wedding. Robert Pires,Emmanuel Petit and Rémy Garde were also invited.
1. Not sure, but I think he may have converted due to his wife being Muslim. This is very common pratice. My friend married a Turkish man (Actually Turkish Cypriot) and she converted to Islam as a result. The whole story about that janitor just smells too much of a false story. 2. Vieira's mother is from Cape Verde, a catholic country, he never knew his father and moved from Senegal when he was 8. What way do you think he is Muslim? Was he actually praying at that Mosque, because I'm a non-Muslim and have been to Mosques in the past.
If his father is muslim, then he is too, because Muslim mens children are considered Muslim and the his wedding may have been Christian, but you have to consider his wife too but Mad Theory did see him at a mosque, I doubt that an footballer in one of the biggest football clubs in the world would go to a mosque and not be Muslim but then you have to look at his name, Patrick, which is a Christian name so when you add it all up it doesnt make much sense lol
I don't see how you guys can't put Hasan Salihamidzic as a starter on that starting XI as the right wing.. He is without a doubt the best wing in Germany and of the best in Europe as well.. most prized player EVER to come out of the Balkans (won over 10 Major Titles with Bayern). He's a world superstar.
Patrick Veira never knew his father but it dosen't matter because his last name spells it out for us. Veira is a Portuguese name his mother was from Cabo Verde (former Portuguese colony) but even if the father left him early Portuguese still have their children keep there fathers name. He could be at a mosque and not be a Muslim, but one thing is almost certain his father was not Muslim p.s. I'm not trying to fight for Veira because I don't care weather or not he is catholic or Muslim or jewish I'm just tryin to help sort things for fun.
How about an All Jewish team? I wonder who is the best Jewish player in the world today as well as all time, anyone knows?
You say his name spells it out for us. But you've mispelled his name. It's "Vieira". Does this (the correct) spelling give the same indication of his origin? I'm not trolling, but asking.
