not trying to ruffle feathers here, but extremists do not make a good example of a religion. Islam itself is a peaceful religion that does not advocate killing in its name. I grew up a Catholic and the basis of the religion is fine, but there are those who make interpretations of the religion and pervert it for their own benefit, same goes for basically all religions. Maybe it is my own naive'te or maybe I am growing up and seeing things differently now, but I find intolerance of others based on religion to be one step away from complete lunacy. I have been privledged to meet people of most faiths, and I have found them all to be intelligent well thought people. I have had great conversations with them over philosophy and why each of us believe what we do. For my money, I think that if you were to combine all the religions, and science then you may begin to understand the complexity of what God created. I encourage all to go into the world and meet people who are different from you and see the world from their eyes. You may be very surprised by what you see. Sorry about the tangent, just felt this was something worth saying.
It's "Their is no God but God". Allah is the Arabic word for God. For example, most Iranians don't speak Arabic but most of them are Muslim and refer to God as "Khuda" not "Allah". "Khuda" is the Persian word for God.
whoever said Judaism is an ethnicity is completely wrong. It's a religion. There are black, white, arab, hispanic, and asian jews. anyways, I came to this thread to ask was Roberto Baggio Muslim or Buddhist?

Zidane has never denied that he is a muslim, infact he has openly admitted many tmes that he is a muslim and describes himself as a liberal muslim.
It would solve many problems: why wanting to fight a religious war if you cannot convert anyone anyway? Religion-as-per-DNA would solve some of the world's problems But, I think it is talking crap that one's religion is determined at birth. I was born from parents with Catholic backgrounds and part of the family is actively practising Christianity, and I was baptised (couldn't really chose at age 6 months ) but please do not call me christian. I refused to do my communy at age 7 and refused to follow religious classes. I don't care what people intended me to be at birth, but I am non-religious and wish not to be called Christian or whatever. Don't come up with stuff like "you can't escape from it" ; walking out of a religion is perfectly possible. As far as I'm concerned I am non-religious and wish not to be associated with any ideology that believes the world is created by a super creature. A few more Muslim players: Nader El-Sayed Aruna Dindane not sure about Salihamidzic from Bayern and Yakin from the Swiss team... I am not sure if the players are perfectly well practising Islam though. During Ramadan, I know some professional players still eat because their body needs it in order to compete at the highest sports level. And with Islam being one of the two biggest religions in the world, this is not so hard to compose a team of it. Try to form an all-Jewish team, that's more of a challenge
Van Persie is not, Zlatan has a Bosniak father (hence the name), I would doubt he would have been brought up a muslim however... Nigmatullin is from the Tatar country like Izamilov and Bilyaletdinov so it is very possible he is.. Henry is not... Also Vieira despite being Senegalese is not a muslim. The name Vieria is actually Portuguese and he is mother comes from the Cape Verde Islands and resided in Senegal.
yes yes Van PERSIE is a convert like Anelka. Henry is not a muslim and I never said that he was in the first place. Ibrahimovic is a Bosnjak(Bosnian muslims) and Nigmatullin is a tatar who are muslims. p.s. Robin Van Persie is also married to a muslim wife.Go to the link that i am sending u and see for urselves http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_van_Persie
