Can you ask for whiskey with a splash of Coke? I have a friend who drinks straight whiskey and when we go to venues that do not sell straight liquor, she just ask for a splash of Coke. Like they press the button for a split second and put enough in to say their is a mixer but there is barely enough in it to even taste it.

Good idea. I'll try that. I bet that it depends on which bartender I go to. Seems like that would be "breaking the rules," but I bet there one person I can find who doesn't care and serves me less Coke.

And I've tried the "is water a mixer?" line. They generally say no (which makes no sense because water is cheaper than Coke and they make more money off me in the end). But, then again, I don't really want a cup of extremely watered down bourbon.

I noticed they don't seem to sell the delicious steak sandwiches they had last year anymore.

Took my brother-in-law last night. We had the Quick's tailgate BBQ, picked-up our scarves then made our way into the MC. Nice atmosphere with the NCAA games on before the SKC game. He was very impressed.

I didn't see Boulevard Pale Ale on on the video menus behind the servers (Wheat and Pilsner were), but I did get Boulevard Irish Ale served to me when I saw the little cardboard ad-thingy next to those taps. Does anyone know if the Pale Ale will become available in the MC? I saw it on the concourse at a Boulevard-specific location. Otherwise, I think the only ale in the MC was the Drop Kick from a 12 oz bottle. Not a complaint. Just curious.

There was a small beer stand next to the merchandise stand that was Boulevard branded (not the bigger one at the bottom of the stairs, this one was different) . Did you see that one? I assumed it was Boulevard-specific, but it may have sold other beers as well. They may have had Pale Ale there if it wasn't at the main concession stand.

My only complaint about the experience last night was that I had to sit in a long line of cars upon arrival at about 7:00 just to get into Lot H, despite having a Lot F hangtag as a STH. That made for a long walk to and from the stadium. I never had any issues like that as a Lot G person last year, not even for the SRO games. Whatever the reasons for the change in parking arrangements, I clearly got spoiled by how easy and convenient everything was.

On the bright side, I was able to exit quickly onto State Avenue, which allowed me to jump right onto I-435 without having to go all the way around the Speedway.

My dad complained about this as well. He finally arrived in the Member's Club at about 6:45 (so it's not like he was trying to park 10 minutes to kick-off). What peeved him the most was the amount of empty spaces he saw in all of the F lots as he walked toward the stadium. I'm assuming that people were tailgating in a lot of those spaces. If that's the case, the parking people need to police that. Parking is already a pain in the ass without every group taking up two spots for their vehicle and lawn chairs. Break out all your shit and set it up behind your vehicle (ya know, next the the tailgate). There's ample room in the aisle way for that.

Yeah, parking sucked. I got there at 6:30 and I finally sat down at 7:05. Hoping it's not like that all year...

Same experience. I came around 6:30 to 6:45 and I had to park all the way back in front of CAB. And I'm a MS STH. Totally sucked. Went from parking in front of the stadium, but still having to walk around the stadium to get to the MS (which was no big deal at all) to having to walk from CAB to all the way around the stadium and into the MS. And I had to work prior, which required me to stand and run around for 8+ hours with no sitting, so really wasn't fun. And I got there a hour to 45 minutes before kick-off. And thats what really peeved me too was all the mass amounts of empty parking along the way.

I guess I wouldn't mind the change as much if it wasn't so incredibly dramatic. I would come way later than that on many games last year and still didn't have to walk even close to half as much as I had to last night. And it was REALLY dumb that General parking was on the far right lane this time and we had to sit there and wait for them to drive in front of us to enter their lot and the attendant let them go for way too long. Same thing with leaving, a shuttle let people off right before the only way to leave (b/c apparently they wanted us to leave in a bottleneck) and we had to wait for a bunch of people to very slowly walk in front of us and it backed up the line pretty bad. At some point, you'd think the guy would ask people to wait a second so the congestion wouldn't get so bad or the driver would think to let people off PAST the exit.

It also wouldn't bug me as much if "priority parking" wasn't a promise. But it is and that definitely is not priority. Waited on General Parking and was stuck back in general parking, about as close to as far as you could get. And apparently that was just about still F. They ********ed up parking for STH.

I had to go the long way out, but turns out it allowed me to breeze past everyone trying to enter onto I-70 from the other way (I turned left upon leaving, back the way we're supposed to enter from I-70 by way of 435). They really need to open up different ways to leave. I could see the other people were backed up REALLY far. I understand that there hands are probably tied, because they had to make a lot of changes last year. But whatever is forcing them to do it this way needs to open up their eyes and realize that they made it way worse. Not for me, but for other people.

I bitched on twitter and to my surprise, got a response (They said I could DM them and I was about to say that the official account doesn't follow me and then I realized it did. Good to know. Apparently so does the official MLS account). Told them through DM, got a response a few hours later apologizing (no worries on lateness, they had a lot to do) and said they'd get me in touch with the guy in charge of parking and haven't heard since. I appreciate that they at least responded right away, even though I didn't expect any response. But uh, no idea how they plan on contacting me or when.

Yeah, that was REALLY dumb. There is no reason you don't put general parking on the left, lot F on the right, and avoid the bottle necking. I think that was 90% of the problem. Hopefully someone can get that figured out before next game.

Hopefully they clear some of the parking stuff up now that we have actually had a game and they see what does and does not work. I'm usually there early and leave late so it's not a huge thing for me, but it's a pain for plenty I know.

I want to add my name to the parking complaints. Idiotic lane setup. Worthless "priority" parking. Wasted "lot-D" space and too liberal with tailgater spaces. Really just a poor set of decisions all around. All of them could *maybe* be understood EXCEPT the lane switch. That was painfully stupid, really out of character for SC to make such a bad choice. Hope they get it corrected soon, history so far shows that SC makes great fan-centric decisions when the opportunity presents itself.

While it is a lot for KC's games, I don't believe that SKC runs the lots. I'd guess it's sub-leased out through the speedway or something like that...

FWIW, it was just wheat. I looked and couldn't find a Pale Ale in the MC, either.

The team does not run the lots, it was ran by Premiere Parking.

I guess my only REAL complaint is that my green beer (the Irish Ale) had so much food coloring in it that it looked black. Oh, and that the glass was so full I immediately spilled it while trying to move it closer for a quick sip and thus, my hand is still green even as I type this. :D

They had Boulevard Wheat in aluminum bottles as well as Wheat and Pale Ale on tap up on the concourse at two different places that I saw.

The only complaint I have about parking is that the parking guys allowed about 40 cars to sit at the gate and wait, some of us for 45 minutes before coming and telling us we had to go in France Family Dr because the gate wasnt opening until 4:30. They could have come and told us much earlier.

Other than that, we were able to come in and go straight to our spot and park. The parking guys ushered cars into empty spaces as they were needed. I hope we can come in park and tailgate like that every week without much hassle.

People need to be more respectful of the property though. I didnt leave the parking lot until midnight and there was broken glass and trash everywhere. We always pick up our trash and put it on a pile on the curb. There is no reason to just throw trash everywhere, break bottles and then just leave it all for people to maneuver through potentially having a flat tire.

Did this happen right next to the stairs into the Stands? I was walking right past as a guy spilled one of those because it was so full and just stood there in disbelief for a second.

I walked through what was Lot F last year about 45 minutes till kick off and the amount of trash was absolutely disgusting. It was pretty awful. Looked better on the way out.

Shouldn't make other people have to clean that up.

    This.

Not making excuses for the laziness for those that cannot carry their trash, but i wonder if a dumpster could be placed in a couple of parking spots near where most of the trash is left along the sidewalk in the original lot F.

I dont remember it every being as bad last year as it was and I generally stay about 2 hours after the game on weekends.

We bag our stuff and put it on the curb and usually take recyclables with us. It was shocking how much stuff was just thrown everywhere and broken bottles. I understand you drop bottles and they break but you should pick it up. I have broken several bottles over the years and picked up every piece of glass possible and put it in a bag. If you're going to tailgate, bring some trash bags or plastic grocery sacks and pick your shit up.

We asked last year for trash dumpsters to be nearer, and had them for 90% of the year. I'm guessing it was forgot for this week, but that's the main reason you saw trash out. It would've been nice if everyone walked 100 yards and threw away their stuff, but not very realistic for keeping the lot clean.

Missing lot C already....:(. We can only hope that things will improve dramatically this weekend. What a mess that was. Simple flipping of signs for lane designation would have saved many thousands a major headache.

Since the game was well in hand, my mom wanted to start heading out a little early, so I am wondering....was the exit gate between the two eastern F lots opened after the game ended? It was still shut when we left, so I hope they opened it eventually or there would have been massive lines headed to the west exit. Knowing whether this gate was opened will help decide where we park next game.

    Have I mentioned I miss lot C?
