All-Encompassing Roadtrip Thread

Unless you've been living under a rock, you should know that the NATS will be hosting the mexis in C-bus on WED Feb 11th 2009 to open the 2010 WCQ HEX.

2 others and myself (possibly 2 more!) will be hitting the road for this match.

Tentative plans are leaving Denver early evening on Monday (or early morning TUE) and leaving C-bus on THU.

Throwing the info out there in case you want to join the group and share the trip costs. If so, send me a PM for more details.

As of right now, match time is TBD and there is NO ticket info! If you join the group, you'll be responsible for your game ticket and hotel arrangements...

If you're a hard core NATS fan you'll be finding a way to make it to this match no matter what, so might as well join the roadtrip and hang out with NATS crazies!

With 4 on board, this trip already is dirt cheap! nevermind 1 or 2 more.

Tentaive trip schedule...

Leaving the Denver area TUE early in the morning with an overnite pit stop near the STL. Arriving C-bus WED afternoon to have plenty of t-gate time. We'll start our return trip sometime THU nite or FRI morning.

Hey, my brother and I just got tickets to the game through AO today. We are flying out Tuesday night and returning Thursday. The car trip would be fun, but I have to fly to minimize the amount of school I'll miss.

Impressive that you are doing the drive out there. I'm going the lazy route and flying. Will be my third US - Mexico game.

IMO US -Mex is the one game that every soccer fan in the US has to get to at least once. There is no other soccer experience that is comparable in the US.

Lazy or not, you're going out there and that's the ONLY thing that matters! One more set of lungs supporting the NATS! So good on ya!

Planning on doing a trip to New York this upcoming June to watch some of the worlds best play the NYRB in a charity match inside Giants Stadium. Should be fun!

I looked at some fares from Denver to SLC on Amtrack but it would be a two night stay - Leave 8:05AM and arrive 11PM the 23rd - the game is the 24th.
Return trip would leave 4:30AM and arrive 7:38PM the 25th. Not ideal but only $65 each way. Staying two nights though, you wouldn't really save any money by taking the train as opposed to flying.

So let's get a group to fly out for this years match... Do they have any pubs in Salt Lake?

The PIE, its a good spot to hangout. Although since they built the Rio, I have no clue whats around there. I plan on attending both matches in SL. If anyone wants to get together we can set up arrangments and make it a day!

According to some Salt Lakians we met last August, there is a Pie located in Sandy.

We try to get a group air fare at least once a year.
