    Nice.

Is this the first time Nike sponsored a Peruvian team?

Good for you guys. Nice to see that the "Big 3" (plus San Martin) are sponsored by important brands, not to mention La blanquiroja :)

    Heading in the right direction?

    Add Trujillo to that list.

It's amazing how much talent Alianza has almost every year. The only thing more amazing than that is how little they do with it. They probably won't win the title this year and whatever Copa they get into, we know they won't get far.

Don't mean to start shit, but damn, how do you manage to waste all those good players?? It's not anything new, either.

Am I missing something or winning the national championship four times in the last ten years doesn't count for anything? I wouldn't say we're underachieving...at least not in the local league.

I know we haven't got far in the Libertadores until this year (should have been at least quarterfinals but because of a pu$$y ref, it wasn't) but I would not say we are underachievers...at all. The key to our success this year was that we played as a team. Individual talent means nothing if you can't play as a team. Oh and we'll see about winning the title at the end of the year. :p Nada esta dicho.

Being champs 4 out 10 years is ok, I guess.

But I definitely mean their performance in the Copas. Yeah, the ref screwed them this past year but what about the previous 10+ years? We know how dreadful they were, even when they had the talent to reach a couple of quarters.

And like I said, it's a historic thing. They should have a couple of Libertadores with Cubillas/Perico/Baylon/Pitin in the late 60s and Cubillas/Cueto/La Rosa/Velasquez in the late 70s.

But they couldn't even make a seminfinal. Unbelievable.

Alianza won again today with goals from their def mid pairing of DLH and Tragodara

dechalaca named DLH as their man of the match and cmd named Tragodara

the depth AL has right now in midfield is pretty amazing for our league

with Gonzales and Quinteros missing out on this game, Trujillo waiting for his chance and Alexander Sanchez aswell(is he injured)

also apparently Nike already sponsored AL, for one game...Teofilo Cubillas farewell game

    Good info, tio condor.

And no idea why Gonzalez and Quinteros did not start. They're obviously our best CMs.

What was his exact job at Alianza? I mean he scared Pasarella and whatever but if he sucked at his job then what's the point of keeping him around?

well exactly; in this day and age you cant just keep someone around and pay their wages for sentimental reasons

if he wasnt doing anything worthwhile now then that's life move on

however if he was contributing to AL then that does suck

but its not Alianza Lima's or any clubs responsibility to maintain these old players for the sake of maintaining them; thats what they did when they were players and if they didn't manage their money that's tough shit

Not even Marangoni, Falcao o el Checho Batista can't touch Velasquez...

Toma tu ubicaina, tio Condorito...
