Ali Karimi is given Schalke #10 shirt. He will be playing in the CL too.
That's amazing, I thought he was finished. Why wasn't he chosen for the Asian cup squad?
A while ago, he criticized Ghotbi, IFF, and the conditions of a training camp they had organized for the national team in Austria, and Ghotbi dropped him from the squad.
Guess he's not one to shut up. I know very little about Shalke's current set up, do you expect him to start or more like a super sub?
Most likely a super sub. He will play a similar role as Mehmet Scholl did for Bayern when Magath was in charge.
Add another body to the Iranians in Europe tally.
Good luck to Karimi. He used to be my favorite player and is one of the best talents Asian football has ever produced. Although I was not happy with his behavior towards Ghotbi, and even though he is too old to occupy a place in any future Iranian national team, I certainly like to see the wizard show he still has his moves and his touch. And can still put together those very fine passes.
Eventhough I'm happy for Karimi and our football's reputation this doesn't help our future at all. Karimi definitely won't be useful for the next World Cup. I would have been much happier to see someone like Ansarifard, Afshin, or Hajsafi make it to Europe instead.
