"No footballers or clubs have been named by police in connection with the allegations."

I really hope it stays that way. The England squad are on their way to Turkey and with everything that's gone on this week the Turkish fans are probably laughing their heads off!!! Just hope no bad kharma follows them and we come away with a 1-0 victory!!!!

They are not showing the match on ESPN (I don't know why Sky Sports is not), so I have to go to an Irish pub and pay $20 cover charge to watch it.

But only non-footballers are arrested. And then they will claim they are discriminated and wrongly accused because they are football stars. They never see the privileges they have.

Hey Bee. Been on the p*ss? Don't quite understand you there. Non footballers will claim discrimination?

By the way. Why aren't you in the other thread?

You want to bet atleast one of them will say this would never happen if he wasn't a famous football star?

Do the ages 19 and 22 match up to any of the players who have previously been rumored as having been involved?

    Funny...

I guess this law in the UK protects your identity even when you are arrested.

    Lemme guess what happens next:

These players appear in court, which I would assume would be a matter of public record, but the tabloids still won't name them.

Their identities will be protected until charged.
(Or until it is leaked by Matthew Wright)

Arrest is just so they can get the official statement from you, if it turns out after your statement and other evidence that all the accusations were rubbish you can go along your way with no-one publicly knowing. So a perfectly innocent man will not have a stain on his character.

Occasionally this leaks out (usually by the police), as in the Hamilton MP rape case, which was found later to be false accusations.
As soon as you are charged with a certain crime, then everyone knows.

I've got a question maybe someone can answer. Why is it that the news stories can name this Minick (sp?) guy who organized the party (or whatever it's called), but the news stories seemingly can't name the football players, as both Minick and the football players (at least two) have been arrested at this point? Just curious, as it seems they've been very careful to not name football players, but this other guy's name seems to be freely mentioned.

I'm guessing that's because "this other guy" already went to the paper's and told "his side of the story." It is also possible that his lawyer has signaled to the media that he doesn't care if his name is in the paper (in contrast to the footballer's lawyers who have supposedly reminded the media of their potential liabilities if they print anything).

    How old is Carlton Cole?
One of the reports mentioned that the 2 men arrested were from seperate clubs.

You say that but they have named Jody Craddock in the Leeds incident. Why is it any different with this one??

The other guy, not the party organiser, that was arrested yesterday was also not named. And he is not a football player. The pimp indentified himself.

He sold his story to a national gutter newspaper for about £10,000 the police were a bit slow off the mark, if they had arrested him early he would not have been able to talk about the case. This newspaper article will surely prejudice the case.
