I'd rather see him take Enoh's number but I guess that wont happen too soon. I`d like to see 5 go to one of the LBs. Otherwise de Boer might get confused and play Boccara at LB

Man so much Enoh hate. The guy had some really solid matches for us last season. Don't forget our demolition of PSV with Enoh starting in midfield.

No Enoh hate, just laughing at my own silly mistake of giving a DM the #5.

I don`t hate Enoh, he simply isn`t good enough for Ajax. His distribution is too slow to break down the opposition in the Ajax way. Against PSV he was effective, but look at who he was replacing. Our midfield dominated them because we had Anita and Enoh pressuring as opposed to just Anita pressuring and Janssen doing nothing. Playing Enoh/Janssen in DM got us into a 10 point hole. Lets not repeat that mistake this season.

We dropped a lot of points last season with De Jong in the midfield as well. I'm not saying Enoh is the answer to all of our problems but we have a lot of question marks. Enoh is useful and I hope he has a role to play this season.

Both Marseille and Besiktas have bid higher than Vitesse for Theo. Should be interesting the coming weeks, hopefully a small bidding war will ensue.

At the end of the day, I'd much rather see Enoh in the defensive midfielder role than Janssen. Enoh has enough bite to play there, he just doesn't have the same passing ability or positional sense that Anita did.

    Sigh.

Agreed. Jansen is an all around liability who has moments of brilliance. Enoh isnt the best footballer but has one of the highest work rates on the team.

Poulson to Ajax, to succeed Anita. Also for the necessary experience and agression in the team I guess. The Danish force is strong with Ajax.

    That's a terrible signing.

^I guess I disagree. We want a stopgap player who realizes that he is not going to stand in the way of one of the young academy players as soon as he/they are ready. Boccara and Sporkslede are the holding midfielders and a player like Poulsen will be useful this season. I haven't seen the transfer details yet.

EDIT: two year contract which is reasonable but no fee announced.

He was free, with a salary of 750.000 a year. Honestly, for that money I would have rather contracted some promising youth players (like Andersen) and stuck with Enoh. The only way I can approve of this signing (I know Frank values my opinion highly) is if Boccara is promoted to the first squad and gets to play a lot as well. If this guy gets injured and Frank decides to solve that with Enoh, then I am going to have to slap Frank silly.

Wow, the Ajax store provides very speedy service! I ordered my 2012 shirt this past Saturday and it just arrived via DHL courier today! I'm going to wear it tomorrow when I go out for my walk.

We're still keeping tabs on Andersen and also Helenius.

It's a good enough signing. Only place he had problems was in Liverpool but this is not the Premier League. He'll keep the midfield running and do the job.

Ajax can be seeded in pot 2 if Braga and Kyiv get knocked out. Although it doesn't look like Kyiv is going anywhere

Looks like Janssen is gonna go now that Poulsen is here. He desperately wants to go to Vitesse. Ajax are willing to let him go for 600k.

Ajax are still looking for another forward. Nicklas Helenius seems to be in the picture.

600k is an awful price considering he still has 2 years left if Ajax decide to use the option, but I guess we can't do much about it now that he has ruled other clubs out and desperately wants to go back to Arnhem.

In other news, VDV on his way to HSV apparently and Stekelenburg maybe reuniting with Vertonghen from Roma. Hopefully both go through because of the academy compensation fee.

As previously mentioned now that Janssen is on his way out it would be nice to see Frank call up one of our young defensive midfielders to the first team and let them rotate in as Poulsen's backup.

Bonevacia has been playing for Jong Ajax and I know there was some discussion that he might go out on loan again but I haven't heard any more.

Bonevacia really hasn't developed at all the past 4-5 years or so. Shame, he had potential. But he still has a first touch equal to Ryan Babel.

Yup, It's rumoured that Ajax offered around 1.3M for him recently but it was rejected. His club is pennyless though. FWIW, he is more ready to leave for a bigger league than Andersen.
