Beat me to it! Just about to post this. Good for Juan. It really does seem like be was to be in Europe sooner than later. He could be a Big Sam type of forward.

West Ham is going nuts with MLS players

Though I'm sure West Ham won't sign any of them, which is frustrating.

I could see them taking a flyer on Agudelo as he'd complement Carroll pretty well I think

Maybe a George John type loan for one of them? Albeit hopefully with some playing time.

I think "West Ham going H.A.M. with MLS players" would be more appropriate ;)

I think MLS would be against loaning any of them out. Zusi, Osvaldo, and Agudelo. I'm pretty sure their teams would object to that a well.

Ultimately I think Agudelo will be too expensive for West Ham.

But not too expensive for Celtic?

No MLS player - and, for that matter, any player - is too expensive.

There are only unreasonable asking prices and Waxman is trying to make sure that that doesn't take place and his client gets a new gig.

The Hammers are a step up from Celtic ... maybe two steps up.

    Two factors to consider.....................

    A) He's entering the last year of his contract.

    B) He's a 20 year old forward that's scored 10 league goals. While we have high hopes for Agudelo, his resume isn't exactly superlative.

Due to his contract status, he wouldn't be as expensive as people think.

I see the move as unlikely at the moment. West Ham picked up Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal for the rest of the season.

So on their books at forward right now they have Andy Carroll (who'll return from injury at some point here), Chamakh, Carlton Cole, Wellington Paulista, Modibo Maiga, Ricardo Vaz Te, Sean Maguire (promising Irish youth international), Dylan Tombides (promising Australian youth international) and others. They do have a bit of an injury crisis at the moment with those guys, but that's why they picked up Chamakh.

What I do see is clubs like Celtic and West Ham "feeling up" Agudelo to see if they want to sign him when his contract expires.....................

Yep, West Ham aren't interested in signing him at the moment. With 6 "contract" players, plus 2 youth internationals, they will need to move at least one of the above on before signing Juan. This is just a getting-to-know-you session. Real moves - if any - will be in the summer.

BS Poster on 1860 board claims Agudelo to 1860 is done.

Better something than nothing...but I was hoping Juan would be in a better league...

The B2 is perfectly fine for a 21-year-old MNT pool player, particularly one who hasn't really had a chance to establish himself in a few seasons.

I agree, 1860 is a solid spot to land, but I would bet it is going to be for less money than he was hoping, and now without a preseason he's going to be playing catch up with fitness and tactics and team mates for a while. I just hope he gets a multiyear deal so he can feel settled and take a long term approach to his game development.

I don't disagree with BL2 being a fine place, but I do feel Agudelo established himself fine at both NE and Utrecht. Unless by 'establish' you mean for multiple seasons, in which case I doubt Juan will want to 'establish' himself in BL2 either.

I was using the phrase to suggest consistent starting performances and goals for a first team over the course of a complete season. We all know what he's capable of, but I imagine clubs at higher level than we're currently discussing would either want him to show that he can shoulder a load, or consider him a prospect.
