African vs European legends on benefit match, Jan. 7, 2006 [R]

    On a friendly match to to benefit the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, African football legends like Jacques Song'o, George Weah, Roger Milla and Abedi 'Pele' Ayew will play against a team of former European stars that includes Hristo Stoichkov, Michael Laudrup, Ruud Gullit and Pep Guardiola. The match will take place in Ellis Park in Johannesburg, South Africa.

    I'm sure it will be televised somewhere, but not where I live, the US. I'll check the FSC and GolTV schedules, but I doubt it.

    But yeah, I love watching this type of games. A lot of times they're like going back in time, not just because they are players from the past, but also because they play wide open, offensive football and, most importantly, they have fun.

    of course it'd be wide open, no need to bunker down since nothing is at stake. sounds like something that should be on. if not goltv or fsc, telemundo, maybe (which i doubt, since there won't be a high hispanic turnout.)

    Sounds pretty cool. Wonder how all the legends will play since some of them probably haven't played in a while.
