Druryfire, why take down the 3rd place teams. Just edit it and if someone does it wrong than undo it. If you cant undo it than make a page within your userspace and put the table on the AFC U-22 qualifiers page and your userspace and when someone messes up the table you can just quickly copy and paste it back.
True but at least it is all over. We all knew this would happen because there are users that wont follow the rules.
Iraq 0-0 UAE Final Standigs: 1. Iraq, 11 p 2. UAE, 11p 3. Oman, 10p 4. India, 7p 5. Lebanon, 3p 6. Turkmenistan, 0p
Only every second edition is pointless. This edition is pointless - well at least for the U22s. it is still useful as a warm-up competition for some of the U19 teams preparing for the U19 championship in UAE in November
Group E Final Standings: 1. Japan, 15 pts 2. Australia, 10pts 3. Indonesia, 9pts 4. Singapore, 7pts 5. Timor-Leste, 3pts 6. Macau, 0pts Oman confirmed as the best 3rd place team. That makes 15 qualifiers, so there is still one spot available as Hosts. Does that mean that none of the 15 qualifiers can be hosts? or if one was (say China for example), do you think they would give the 16th position to the second best 3rd place team, which is Yemen?
Fourteen sides -- Iraq, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Japan, DPR Korea, China, Korea Republic, Myanmar and Australia -- won the finals tickets after finishing as either the group leaders or runners-up while Oman became the 15thteam to qualify as the best third-best team from all the seven groups. The host of the finals (totally 16 teams in finals), who will be decided in an AFC Executive Committee meeting on July 19, will gain a direct entry to the tournament proper to be held on 11-26 January 2014. However, Oman and Thailand are bidding to host the finals and if the Omanis’ bid is successful, the ticket will go to the next third-best team, Yemen. http://www.the-afc.com/en/tournamen...p/39647-U-22-Championship-qualifiers-conclude
Draw for the finals is today. http://www.the-afc.com/en/tournamen...hip/26508-stage-set-for-u-22-draw-240813.html
THE GROUPINGS Group A: Oman, Jordan, Korea Republic, Myanmar Group B : DPR Korea, UAE, Syria, Yemen Group C: Japan, Australia, Iran, Kuwait Group D: Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, China http://www.the-afc.com/en/tournamen...onship/26509-oman-to-face-myanmar-240813.html
Wow Group C is really tough.. And I'm really tired as Iraqi to face the likes of China and Saudi Arabia again. But I'm happy with this group
How was the seeding done for this tournament? Group C is crazy tough. Japan should still make it though, their youth program is the best in Asia. However it will be tough for them. It would have made more sense if Aus or Iran were in Group B instead of Syria or Yemen. (For example)
I expect a lot from Iraq this time. They were runners up in the U-19 Championship last year, finished fourth place in the U-20 World Cup, so I can see them getting good results in this upcoming tournament
Very little information appears to be available, even news of the draw wasn't released by the AFC until today - the day of the draw. In Group A we have South Korea and Myanmar who met each other in the qualification round, same for Australia/Japan and Kuwait/Iran. Japan beat Australia 5:0 in qualifying!!
It is the 2015 edition, that is supposed to be the route for qualification to the Olympics in 2916, right?
Here's how I think the seedings looked like: Pot 1 Australia Iraq North Korea South Korea Pot 2 Japan Jordan Syria Uzbekistan Pot 3 Iran Oman Saudi Arabia United Arab Emirates Pot 4 China Kuwait Myanmar Yemen
