How good was the JNT U-17's defence under Yoshitake? What do you think can be done to teams who park the bus?

Sweden parked the bus against us (possession 25%), and we weren't physical enough to succeed incursions in their box. We should have tried to shoot from a long way.

Gakuto Notsuda will never play in J3 (if yes, it's comical). Same thing for Ishige or Nishino.

Perhaps not, but if their clubs felt that they were that important then they would have been exempted like Iwanami, Kushibiki, or Minamino, who are not listed.

Notsuda was very good this week-end and seems in great form (scored many goals in recents friendlies). I would be so disappointed to see him in J3 while he did a correct last season in J1.

I hope that players who never play in their clubs (Akino, Kida for example) will have priority.

    is Nishino injured... ?

    MF:
    OSHIMA Ryota - Kawasaki Frontale
    HARAKAWA Riki - Ehime FC
    YAJIMA Shinya - Urawa Reds

welp. Not sure who's going to score goals here
and not sure why Ishige is not there since he can't play at the AFC U19 anyway

Nozawa, Nakajima, Musashi Suzuki and Kida were also members of the Japan squad at the 2001 U-17 WC.

I think some players like Nishino and Ishige are obliged to their club teams, and their club teams decide against let them go to this tournament, and the JFA didn't press their club teams to release them as the U-21 NT already has good if not better alternatives.

better alternatives to the best players in their roles ? hmm I don't know... but yeah it's not an important tournament anyway...

I'm very much confused as to how the team is supposed to play if he has to be subbed for some reason

It's just a training camp selection by the way, not the final squad.

Wataru Endo was really impressive in J2 this season. 5 goals for a defender:eek: And Gakuto it's a offensive midfielder, not forward.

I think Takuma Asano (19 years) it's a better forward than Arano

heh it's hard to be optimistic when the same striker who did nothing last time is the only one called up for the camp.
I also hope Yoshida finds the squad some way...

Not the final squad (and fortunately !) but with this poor coach, I'm not even sure we'll qualify for olympics games. Seriously.

When I see our recents Asian Cup U19 and U22 disasters...
    Teguramori = Yoshida = incompetent.

Yoshitake should coach every young team from U16 to U23.

Or let Aguirre take charge of the olympic team.

Take in mind that we always had to deal with South Korea in the previous editions, this time we have them in the group, so failing to beat Iraq or whoever comes would be quite disappointing.

That's what we did in the lasts Asian Cup U19 and U22.

In 2010, our U19 lost vs SK after leading 2-0. :cautious: It's a fail too.

I purposedly didn't talk about U22 because it's a bit of a different story. Iraq won the competition and it didn't let you qualify for anything. Next one it gets serious because we'll have to do good or either it's no Rio at all.

I had kind of removed the atrocity that was 2012 U19 though so thanks for reminding me :ROFLMAO: I guess it'll be revenge time. If we win the group instead it'll likely be vs north korea.

What do you mean? It should be the same as usual, like

The U21 beat Avispa Fukuoka 2-0, goals by Oshima and Iwanami. Fun fact, Musashi played most of the game.

We have to get ready for it.
