Anyone have any advice for some visitors looking to make a weekend of the KC v Montreal game the weekend of April 19th? Ideally we would like to sit/be a part of the supporters section to get the best experience... Also heard we should check out Oklahoma Joes bbq while we're in town. Do you all have a supporters section that sells it's own tickets? Any pre-game bars or tailgates? Thanks in advance.
Both the Cauldron (north end) and the South Stand sell their own supporters tickets. I know the Cauldron requires people to be paying members to be able to buy tickets, not sure on the South Stand
The supporters always have a tailgate going on prior to the game (look for the big blue bus in the parking lot) and they have their own club (bar) for the members stand that is in the stadium (but you need to be a STM or members stand ticket holder). You can buy a general admission ticket and sit with the South Stand People (be ready to stand and cheer for most of the game). Either way, you can't go wrong. Oklahoma Joes is always a good choice for BBQ.
South Stand tickets are sold through the supporter group at this website. You do not have to be a member of the group to purchase tickets. If you sit here and are looking for the "supporters" experience, sit in section 119 near the goal. Other parts of the section aren't as lively. http://www.southstandsc.org/p/store.html#!/~/product/category=2340633&id=33049655
If you get South Stand tickets, keep in mind that's it's general admission. It's a pretty good deal if you get there early.
