    Nice work tracking this down.

Being second team all-conference as a HS sophomore (last spring) doesn't exactly elicity visions of future World Cup stardom.... or any kind of soccer stardom, for that matter.

Of course, maybe he doesn't put much emphasis on HS soccer or maybe the coaches give the all conference awards to upperclassmen or what not. So, I could be wrong, and would actually prefer to be so.

BTW, his bio on the first link provided says he's a South African U17 international. As such, do we still even consider him for this thread?

As of March, Meltz was still in high school in San Diego.

He's a 90, so he's no longer old enough for U17 consideration. He could play for the current U20s, though he hasn't been called into a pool.

He's also listed as a junior, so he has another year of school ahead of him if he doesn't leave for an academy this summer.

    Yes. I have an update.

He still has the quirkiest nickname of any youth player that I have ever seen.

Nice to see that the kid's nickname is still quirky.

Not sure how he is doing personally or as a player - mostly just keeping tabs on the nickname.

Saw him mentioned in another thread. Doesn't look like he is an A list talent, but it is always interesting to know where these kids that were being hyped end up. Glad Adam was able to find his way to Division I soccer, but he does not appear to be on the current UNLV roster - could be that he did not make the first team. Member of the Galaxy under 20 squad in 2010, whatever that means - I tend to be skeptical as he is not even on the first team roster of UNLV.

If nothing else, nice to see that he didn't actually drop off of the face of the earth.

Maybe he's on UNLV's reserve team.

Reserve of UNLV's reserve team. Besides Galaxy U-20 there is a plenty of funny stuff on that page.

I think this is written by the same guy who promoted Vincenzo Bernardo. Golden Boot in HS soccer?

High School: Played one season in high school and received the Golden Boot award ...Spent the other three years concentrating on club soccer.

Club: Helped Cal South to two National ODP championships ...Went to five regional camps while in the ODP regional program ...Was a member of the LA Galaxy U-20 squad in the summer of 2010.
