A lot of USWNT Soccer that won't be on TV

I'll go out on a limb and say that I would be surprised if the US-Canada game is not going to be on tv.

 

I'm still holding out hope that Fox Soccer will air the Algarve Cup, even if it's delayed like last year...

I doubt the U-23 or U-18 games will be televised, though.

 

They would have to pay for the rights... plus there's no Fox Soccer anymore; Fox Sports 1 and 2 in its place.

Fox Soccer Plus still exists. I just left off the word "Plus" as it's now redundant. There is also still Fox Soccer 2Go.

 

If I remember correctly, FOX playing the matches on a delay was announced very late last year. All the talk was about the pay per view attempts. On the other hand, there has to be matches for FOX to show. Eurosport is showing US vs Japan but not sure theyve announced any other. US vs Sweden looks like the best match of that day so maybe Eurosport grabs that one too. If the US is in the top placement game that will be broadcast as well. So it looks like three out of four might be available.

 

I never saw any announcement from them. The first mention of Fox airing it was this post on Feb 28th. So there are still a few more days...

According to this post, Eurosport will be broadcasting all of the US's games (at the group stage) as well as the final.

 

That's good to hear.

 

I e-mailed the company the showed Algarve on PPV and on UStream last year about this year's tournament and never got a response. I have no way of knowing for sure, but since Eurosport is showing all the USA's games this year, perhaps the rights were not available. Or maybe that company is just dead.

 

I wonder if deleyed broadcast rights would be negotiated with Algarve or with Eurosport.

 

They should belong to the Portuguese Fed, no? Unless they have already made a package sale of them?

Streams will almost always pop up if some channel has bought the rights, and I believe Eurosport acquired the rights last year (including the 2013 edition) for the next 3 years. So, the 2015 edition will be shown as well.

 

Found a Sweden vs the US archive. I haven't watched it yet, so can't comment on the quality.
