Asutralia has gone back to hopefully 3 teams in the 2014 ACL:

Two direct entries to the Group Stage : Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners
One into the qualifying playoffs : Melbourne Victory

It is unclear whether losers in the playoffs get a berth in the far lesser competition of the 2014 AFC Cup (it has been the case in prior years, but The-AFC keeps tinkering with the format); or whether a team such as MV would even want to be in that competition if it doesn't make the ACL

I think you mean Central Coast, not Brisbane....

And the rumours are that Australia (also CHN, THA, UZB, QAT, UAE) wont get drop down AFC Cup spots.

Is Wellington allowed to qualify to the Asian Champions League?
