The design also looks likely to limit any capacity to expand in the future, meaning all your major matches would have to be played at the Dome, which isn't exactly the perfect venue for football.
Foundations have been layed for future expansion. The government said they will do this if Victory can keep getting high crowds like last year.
Back on track, here's our newest members first home game. Sourced from their unofficial supporters web page. More pics here http://flickr.com/photos/8604297@N04/sets/72157601688924937/
Well done Wellington!! I won't mind having them in the league if they can keep that kind of support & play well.
Have to agree. The way membership is blossoming (now over 17,000) the stadium may only host a couple of matches a season, and as good as the dome is, it's not a football stadium.
Did that not include any finals matches? Reinaldo's goal against Sydney was better than all of those!
Wow, why am I not surprised to know that a Sydney sider made that clip? Santalabs goal as number 1? Please.
Which A-League-stadiums are "soccer specific"? I mean, where the stands are close to the field, not as it´s like in the stadiums, the A-League-teams have to share with rugby or athletics? How many games are usually played there (I think some teams change their homeground, depending on if the games are attended by more or less people)?
The only football specific stadium in the league is Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide. But it's only a small ground. (About 15,000 seats) The best stadium in the league is Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. (52,500) It is built to host rugby league & union as well as football, the stands aren't quite as close to the pitch, but it still makes for great viewing.
Obviously you didn't put in enough votes- Santalab's goal was voted Goal of the Year at the A-League Awards yesterday. Let the boy have his glory- its not like he does it regularly!
