I figure this would be a big road trip for Revs fans. I'd like to gauge how long people are staying and where they are staying. If you have any good hotel deals or travel deals post them here.

Also, is there any interest in a supporters match with the Sons of Ben?

    I'm likely in.

Was more likely before I bought my ticket for the US game there.

    Im in!

Drive down Friday morning and home Sunday afternoon...

It'd be good if we all stayed in the same spot....team hotel or not. Maybe they can work a group rate for us there??

I'd imagine the only way we'd get enough for a supporters match would be to play on the Union field in Chester on Friday night like we did in Toronto....

I've been looking into this, the only thing that sucks is that Chester is somewhat far from downtown PA. I haven't checked the public transit options too deep, but I only found bus routes.

I'm almost certainly in though, it's on my birthday.

I'll start a list to see how many are interested in a supporters match. I was thinking the morning of or Friday night, depending on what the SOB can put together.

I'd rather the night before if possible. I don't want to go play a game, drink, stand, etc...it would be a f---ng exhausting day...

    Night before allows for sleep.

    I'll play.

I also know that my girlfriend would love to play as well. She's pretty good.

I think we should do co-ed if at all possible. You guys could use some female interaction I'm sure.

    Edit:

Crazy summer. This will be the 2nd trip to Philly this summer. I'm all booked and ready for the Memorial Day Weekend USMNT send off match.

We'll be staying with my girlfriend's family in Princeton, NJ for this one to save money and kill two birds with one stone (i.e. visit the Revs and visit her family.) We may make it out to Sea Girt, NJ on both trips to enjoy the beach and that bar right there who's name escapes me.

I'm down for the supporter's match if this is a "friendly having fun" type of game. If we care too much about winning though you probably don't want me out there. I think they only thing I contributed in Toronto was a handball.

    I'm in +4 or 5.

Are the Riders putting together a group ticket purchase?

That's the plan. We're also looking at a bus, but there has to be enough interest to do that. If there are enough supporter's (Riders, Rebellion, Rev Army or whatever) we'd love to do a bus trip.

Have the Riders ever tried to get the FO to subsidize or pay for buses for road trips?

I mean it is in the best interest of the Revolution to have our supporters groups get as many people as possible to away games, just to show the league we actually have fans (as well as supporting the team). With all the bullshit we put up with this FO, the least the can do is facilitate us going to nice SSS's to cheer on the Revs:D

Perhaps this is something the Riders, Army, and Rebellion can work on together?

The Revs have helped in the past (like with the DC MLS Cup trip) but in general, if they subsidize the bus, they've wanted waivers and no alcohol on our buses (which is understandable). Since our bus trips have been to NY, and part of the bus has been having a couple of beers along the way, we've used Riders money the past couple of years to help subsidize the trip.

RedRevs' girlfriend is probably better than him.

I'm supposed to start work that Monday down in Pennsylvania anyway, so I'm definitely in for the game. Would also be up for the supporter's game if I can down there for Friday night.

im definitely in. driving down with 3 others.

i would play regardless of the type of match (plus 1 or 2 if it were coed)

looks like some of the hotels at the airport arent that far away from the new PPL Park, and most are decently reviewed/priced. thats probably where our home base will be for the weekend.

You can throw my name up on the list of players, assuming my knee holds up that long. Now that I'm playing again its only a matter of time

We went from doubtful to very probable on this.

Count us in if there is a bus, if not we would be up for a carpool or cheap flight down and hotel room sharing.

maybe we should make two lists - one that includes people going down for the match, and another for people that are going down and interested in playing their doucheb... er, supporters

I'd play but I have a torned up knee from rugby. I'll partake in the post match brawl, or pre match brawl, or the "that slide tackle was cheap" brawl. And I support a bus to Philly, I hate driving.
