    What this shows it that the club payroll figures are utter bullshit.

    e.g. Rooney earns 8m from Utd but 12m on sponsorship

    So basically Utd's 'payroll' is far higher than what is shown in the clubs books

    It was the same way with Beckham over here. There's no way that MLS would have been able to afford him, but sponsorship made it possible.
