I think Cisse's second was intentional. I don't think he thought he was going to score, but the way he shaped up to take it suggests it was a shot.

Disjointed performance today but that second goal by Cisse was tremendous. Given we were pretty much done at that point, it was actually possible to appreciate that for what it was: epic. Someone needs to throw a gif of that up (Cris, eyes on you sunshine).

We'll get the last laugh if we win the CL and leave Newcastle or Spurs out. Poor game by the squad, Meireles and Mikel in particular. The commentator jizzed himself over an above-average-but-nothing-spectacular first goal by Cisse. Calling it a candidate for goal of the season? The second one is a real candidate. I think that even Cisse didn't think he would score when he first hit it.

Frustrating loss but it was difficult ot imagine that we would continue on our great run of form.

The only thing more annoying than this new format is people who continue to discuss Other Teams' results in the game threads. How many times do we have to talk about not doing that.

All I have to say is wow to the second goal. Incredible.

Average performance mixed with not enough shots taken to even test Krul. This line up to me looked troubling from the beginning. If we really wanted to win this, rdm should of started with the big guns. Now the pressure is on to actually make this some how a successful season. Hope the boys have enough juice to make it happen.

Ps. I don't like this new layout

I guess what they say about Papiss Cisse is true, - he scores whenever he wants :(.

PS - this site is hideous now.

New layout is horrible. Give me back my old BigSoccer, please.

As for the game, I missed the first 30 minutes or so but we were almost dominant from then on (apparently they were the better side early on though? Can never believe Tony Gale). Full credit to Newcastle for defending so well. There were a few pinball moments in the box but nothing broke for us. It seemed every cross was to... Ramires?! The pace of our passing and movement of the ball was pretty good in the 2nd half, but we still don't have that player that can run at defenders and unlock defenses on his own.

I think we missed Sturridge's potential spark despite all of the possession after he went off. Torres did fairly well but Pardew was determined not to let any Chelsea players get in behind. One of the only times we did have a good chance resulted in Mata being offside because Bosingwa didn't pick his head up and delayed the pass far too long. Generally a good performance from Bos, btw. He has really picked his game up since his return to the lineup.

Oh well, beaten by two great strikes from nothing. 0-0 would have been the result on most days, but Cisse is on another planet right now. Congrats to Newcastle. Now let's win those cup finals.

I don't like this new layout. Or maybe I was just too used to the old one.

The game itself was dire. Without Lampard, we have absolutely no ideas. Have to give credit where it is due. Cisse was really good.

This ********ing sucks......I think the lads are just tired. Hopefully this game is not going to mentally depress the team for Saturday. It just never looked like we were going to score.

Had a bad feeling about this game, so didn't bother waking up for it!

It's obvious RDM has the FA cup in mind. Now that 4th place is over, hopefully we'll see the likes of Lukaku, Hutch, Bertrand make a first team appearance to give them some more EPL experience.

I am kinda liking the new layout now (White over grey). I think when it is complete, it will be much better than the old one. Plus I get an avatar now ;)

They mentioned on Twitter that even Drogba smiled at Cissé's second goal. Did not see it myself, is that accurate? :)

It was pretty sweet, even Cisse looked surprised.

What is worse? the performance or the new layout of this site??

The games that RDM has lost always seem like we are beat before we kickoff. Yesterday's lineup had no creativity from the start. There was no chance

CL final is biggest game in the history of the club. Everything possible is riding on the result

He did. They showed Drogba talking to Newcastle's manager right after it went in and they were both in amazement. It has to be a goal of the year candidate.

Pretty poor performance. Cisse's second goal was marvelous, goal of the season for me. Totally intentional too if you ask me... I just think it was very hopeful but he struck it exactly how he would've wanted.

also : grumble grumble about the new forum :D atleast we have all these cool new emoticons, right? :p
