If our only targets are Diame and D. Villa I would rather us not sign anyone this window.

I don't want a mediocre squad player to eat into our wage structure for the next couple years, nor do I want an over 30+ fading star to bite us in the ass becoming another Arshavin (also tying up our wage structure.)

Ramsey has been doing well in the more defensive role and I'd rather him ride it out there than sign Diame and I think Giroud & Walcott can swap in the CF position till the end. Evaluate next summer.

If those are our choices I want Villa beyond a doubt. First of all, I'm sure he has a better work ethic than Arshavin. And let's face, the problem with Arshavin wasn't buying him. It's been managing him after he was acquired.

The problem with Arshavin is Arshavin himself... The dude is just disinterested and has no work ethic.

Anyway, 3 more days to go and we will not have to worry about eventual transfers for this season!

So Arsenal posted on Facebook that Becks trained with the team yesterday. He has been looking for his next playing opportunity... Having watched MLS, and Becks specifically it wouldn't be a terrible short term deal. He still has the ability to play killer vertical balls and add something in the final third. As depth he would add some edge and leadership. In the short term....

Nevermind. Found this article on ESPFC. Still interesting though

Since when did he become so close with Wenger that he comes here to train during the US preseasons??

Just curious since he chooses to come to the Emirates to train instead of all the other teams including Man U.

I think its more to do with our facilities and proximity to London.

BTW, why even have a transfer thread? Might as well be called wishlist. I'll start: Candice Swanepoel and Megan Fox jello wrestling in my living room. MAKE IT HAPPEN WENGER!

Indeed. We won't sign anyone, Spurs will fall apart, we'll slide into fourth, Wenger will feel vindicated. Rinse, repeat.

Remember boys its Super Quality we are looking for. In Wenger's world it means Messi talent available at the dollar store.

Seems that Nico Yennaris got a good teaching lesson from Becks.

Diame would provide something different, and could be a good player for us. Wouldn't break much more than 50k/week, and a smallish transfer fee.

    Villa isn't going to happen.

I'd like to get a sturdy midfielder but I'm not sure Diame is good enough. We need a player who clearly improves the squad. Villa does, I don't think Diame does.
