Hopefully. He's getting towards the age where being on the cusp starts to transition into said missing persons report.

As recently as December, he seemed to be struggling for minutes with their U20s.

Still wouldn't mind seeing Guido loaned and get some consistent run at Dorados for the remainder of the Clausura. If Tijuana gets eliminated from playoff contention with a couple games in hand, he could see some starts then too. He's been injured quite a bit over the past year as well.

I think Guido is still playing for both Dorados and Tijuana

He was hurt the majority of last year. Wasn't fully healthy until December IIRC.

Good to see UW goalkeeper Spencer Richey out training with Sounders today, recovering well from broken leg. Jordan Morris is out here, too.

Just keeping an eye out for Jordan Morris......................the 94 who almost made our previous U20 team. Training with the Sounders. Hmmm.

Morris is probably home on Spring Break, so why not get a look at him. He'll probably play with the Sounders PDL team, then maybe after this next college season he gets offered a HG deal.

The Green switch bodes extremely well for the 2016 US Olympic team: Arriola, Gil, Green, Packwood, Brooks, Yedlin, O'Neil, Holmes, Cropper

Jordan Morris played very well in Sounders training this morning. They had him on the wing, in the middle, and at forward at times.

Well we can almost surely cross out Brooks, Packwood and probably even Holmes from ever making this team.

Sounders product and Stanford forward Jordan Morris is off to Everton for a week with the youth team. Not a bad way to spend spring break.

A poster over on Yanks Abroad (@holz17 ) is saying that Stanko will be on the bench for Freiburg's match against Werder Bremen today.

Our pool of U23 central midfielders with actually professional accomplishments is pretty thin. Wil Trapp looks increasingly like a lock, but who will his partner be? Nobody has staked a claim yet. Hopefully the positive buzz around Stanko that has periodically come out of Freiburg translates into progress on the field.

Yup. Unlike most cycle, the "holding midfielder" group looks fairly thin this cycle.

Would love to see Marlon Hairston get some playing time with Colorado........................

I don't think Hairston is any good at defending. He looked very poor defensively in preseason.

My best guess on what the team for qualifying could look like this early.

    Arriola-----Salgado/Okoli-----Serna
    ----------Guido--------Gil--------------
    ------------------Trapp--------------
    Acosta-O'Neill-Dean--Yedlin
    ---------------Steffen------------

Bench: Miazga, Cochrane, Ocegueda, Miller, Joya, Lopez, Thompson, J. Allen, Pfeffer, Castano, McBean, Garcia..others.

Compared to 2012 I think it looks much better quality/depth wise.

I don't know what we actually know about most of those bench players, to be honest. Of course, we'll have a much better idea after the MLS season.

To me, the attacking portion of midfield seems like the iffiest part of the qualifying team. There's a real opportunity for Joya here and maybe also Hernandez to compete with Guido and Gil and others.

Also, can't help noticing that you didn't even put the one guy whose U21 callup has actually been reported on your bench!

Lol I forgot about Ocegueda will fix. Well the good thing is they have a lot time to develop. This and next seasons. Most of those bench guys will be getting more time either in USL/Copa MX/MLS etc. Without the Euro players I think it looks pretty promising

You sure don't learn how good a player is from watching them play against college players.

And you're the one who has consistently said Yedlin is awful defensively and referred to Alonso Hernandez as a special talent, so your opinion is a bit laughable.
