here's a lineup of games featured today at the Sports Lemon, my US central time(there might be more as games get picked up by the hour) and remember x out anything that asks to download a video player(it just a ruse to take over your browser.

    Finland vs Hungary, 10.00 am
expect Finland to play a very young team, especially since they qualified for this year's u20 wc. Dunno much about Hungary except whats missing. Possibly the best player in the world today, Marozsan, was born in Hungary, but obviously plays for Germany, where she was raised most of her life there. and Wolfsburg outstanding winger, Jakabfi, is neither on the Hungarian NT

    Germany vs Slovania, 11.00 am
after a lackluster last performance, Germany seeks to dominate again against the lowly ranked Slovania, Watch for Germany to cap for the 1st time their wunderkind forward, 17 year old Pauline Bremer

    Denmark vs Switzerland, 12.00 pm
Is Denmark for real? when they scored 5 goals against the US? or as conspiracy theorists insists, the American defense staged a mini revolt against Coach Sermanni by letting all those goal in. Personally I like the Swiss team that work like with the precision of the famed watchmakers that come from that country. Especially keep an eye out for the play making magic of Ramona Bachmann. The rest of the team is made out of solid, mostly Bundesliga players

If Denmark doesn't win this match, they won't win the group. That's not saying they can't still finish second and get one of the 4 playoff spots, but I don't see Switzerland faltering against any of the other 4 teams in the group. Iceland could maybe get a result against Switzerland, but that's a bit of a long shot.

Scotland win 3:1 in Bosnia i Herzegovina. They were behind 1:0 until the 62nd minute, but then Jane Ross turned the tides with her pure hat-trick.

    More results:

    Spain 10, Macedonia 0
    Iceland 8, Malta 0

Were there really 12 minutes of stoppage time in that Iceland match, or did the matchtracker just screw up?

Belarus 7, Montenegro 1. Montenegro opened the scoring, but Belarus stormed back with 7 unanswered goals to put this one away.

Some more telling results today...and matches to come
    ...
    Some notes...
I expect Germany to rebound and beat Slovenia with double digit scores.
Belgium for the upset against Norway and the Netherlands to win comfortable with several goals.
Finland are on track for a guaranteed play-off birth as a 2nd place with solid wins so far.
Match of the day is Switzerland Denmark which even though I would prefer the Danes to win, this Swiss will likely win and really take off.
Solid results for Iceland today but against maybe the worst team in qualification. Where is Vidarsdottir?
The Wales-Ukraine tie will help Belgium/Netherlands/Norway make the play-off for whoever gets 2nd.
Spain is where Japan was in 2003; a fast improving technical side that will continue to develop and reach the top 10 within 5 years.

Thanks. Who did they play today? I want to see Iceland make it to the WC just to see their keeper make those sick saves.

They played Malta. Not the best test for them. Malta only had 1 SOG all game.

Iceland's best chance is to finish second and win the playoffs for the final spot, as they're unfortunately stuck behind Switzerland. Not that I would be sad to see Brynjarsdottir miss out.

Dang, close call for Italy, then! If Romania managed the draw, that would've essentially been lights out for the Azzure.

Romania did make it pretty interesting towards the end, that's for sure. If they got some proper investment, they could be a side that could make some noise.

One more result: Germany 4, Slovenia 0.

Switzerland 1, Denmark 1. First goal conceded by Switzerland in qualifying, but a draw is still a decent result.

    ETA: Netherlands 10, Albania 1.

Pretty much. That would be a huge accomplishment for Switzerland to not only qualify for their first WC, but to win their group as well.

    2 final results:

Norway 2, Belgium 1. Norway squeaked by after Belgium dominated the last few minutes.

Northern Ireland 0, Faroe Islands 0.

Extremely disappointing results for Denmark and Belgium, though continued positives steps taken for Belgium.

    This weeks winners:
Finland - 8-0 aggregate against Hungary is impressive for a generally low scoring team
France - not great this week but they did what they needed
Switzerland - big results against biggest rival along with a stats stacking win and essentially clinched
Spain - same as the Swiss
Norway - relieving win for Norway that keeps them at the top of the group
Ireland - despite the loss, most encouraging result the in nations history
Netherlands - despite easy opponents, the Dutch took care of business
Iceland - same as the Dutch
    England - big home win

    Losers:
Denmark - needed a win and they didn't get it
    Italy - same as Denmark
Wales - lost crucial points at home to rival for 2nd
    N. Ireland - 0-4 to Sweden isn't great but 0-0 to Faroe Islands is awful
Germany - two highly underperforming games .. Why was maroszan playing defense ?...

Every other team had neutral results or performances

    Switzerland hasn't totally clinched yet.
If Iceland wins the rest of their games = Iceland wins the group.
And Iceland only has to play Switzerland one more time (not two).
Essentially, Iceland "controls their own destiny" at this point. But so does Switzerland.

But Iceland has a much tougher schedule than Switzerland going forward.
Iceland must not only beat Switzerland in Switzerland. Iceland still has to play (and beat) Denmark TWICE.
Switzerland has already played both of their matches against Denmark.

And here's the full match between Switzerland vs. Marta.
    I mean, Switzerland vs. Malta.
Great goal by Ramona Bachmann in the 4th minute.

No commentary, but excellent field audio.
You can hear the players kick the ball, and you can hear the crowd as well in the background.
I mean, how often do you get to watch Malta Women's Football?

So Spain put 22 past poor Macedonia in the two games. Ouch!
