No. The Quakes open Levi's with a game against the Sounders in August. Expect the highest attended game in the MLS for 2014.
USA-Nigeia in Jacksonville June 7 confirmed: http://members.jacksonville.com/spo...ia-jacksonvilles-everbank-field-pre-world-cup
NYC/NJ at RBA looks to be essentially done. Just not completely sure what is going on with Northern California as it might appear Stanford declined having the game there. So if we have RBA and JAX , what is everyone thinking of , hitting up both, man will it be a party/celebration for th ages.
What do you mean by "essentially done"? So far we don't even know the actual date or an actual opponent. Just the rumors... unless you have some insider info! Spill the beans man!!
I'm also hearing it's almost done. Just finalizing the date and opponent (likely June 2 or 3), but I've been told that RBA is the location.
With plans to be in Jacksonville the next Saturday, I would be quite happy to see the game on June 3rd as opposed to the 1st as has been mentioned.
Having all 3 on weekends would definitely be ideal for people, particularly given the Memorial Day weekend. I hope they back off the June 2-3 window but I also heard that the first match would be May 27th which is the day after Memorial Day (because players don't have to be released until the 26th).
The May 26th release date really only effects the MLS guys, which I guess make up far more of the team this around. A lot of the European Leagues end on the weekend of the 10th. So with how this schedule is looking like how it will pan out, I really do not see how you can get three weekend games. So depending on how long a break JK wants between games taking travel into consideration, they could play the RBA game on the 1st and then get in a good week of training in Florida before playing their final send off game on the 7th. This is just speculation/ideas but I am looking forward to seeing how this all comes together.
Ian Darke said we'd be playing at RBA on June 1 and Jacksonville on June 7 during the match today. I've been told the game at RBA is against Turkey and we would have Nigeria in Jacksonville. But, all will be confirmed tomorrow.
If these clowns in the Bay Area managed to reject a USA friendly I'm going to consider raising my voice in anger.
That is great to hear, I am already making the plan to make the trek down from Toronto for both. It will be great to party with the AO Family while giving the lads the send off they deserve. NYC/NJ and JAX will be great times for sure. Turkey at RBA makes sense as they will be playing RFK three days before vs. Honduras.
Glad to see Jacksonville get another game. I was there for the game against Scotland in 2012 and the atmosphere was electric. Will definitely be making the drive up from Miami..can't wait!
Grant Wahl just tweeted: Hearing USMNT will play Azerbaijan in Palo Alto, Turkey at Red Bull Arena (NJ) & Nigeria in Jacksonville as part of send-off series pre-WC.
The stadium in JAX holds close to 70k. That place will really rock if they fill it up with USA supporters.
I'm excited for the Jacksonville game. Only 2 hours away!!!! Got a bunch of my fellow VSU Blazers interested in coming too. Its going to be great!
According to this, the game will be at Candlestick, not Stanford. That's a press release from the Earthquakes. That's consistent with what was earlier in this thread (that Stanford rejected the game for various reasons) but not consistent with what Grant Wahl tweeted a few hours ago, but more recent tweets from Grant Wahl say Candlestick. edit to add, I just learned how to embed tweets in posts: Game at Candlestick might be even more compelling if they blew up the stadium afterward.— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) March 6, 2014
